Bruce and Jay tell the story of how their uncle lost their aunt on a cruise ship. She’s in her 70s, doesn’t see well, and gets around on a motorized scooter. On the way back on board, he left his phone at the security checkpoint. He asked some strangers to hold the elevator while he ran back for it, and they didn’t. Their aunt rode up a 12-deck ship by herself, and the family searched every deck for about 30 minutes before they found her.
That wasn’t even the worst part of the day. Earlier, on an excursion in the Dominican Republic, he left her on a shuttle with only the driver, signed a liability waiver, and went off to finish the tour. Both things happened within an hour of each other. Then he spent the rest of the vacation trying to get Bruce and Jay to tell it his way. They love their aunt and uncle, who are about to renew their vows for their 45th anniversary. They’re still telling it the way it happened.
