Fake NFL Star, AI Romance Scams & The Dating Games We Play | 339
Some weeks the whole world feels like one big hustle, and this one leans all the way in. Bruce and his sister open on the messy state of modern dating, the lost art of the first date, and a debate about whether a relationship that ended was ever really a failure. Then the conversation follows the money into the strange new world of digital scams, where Daejon Love allegedly posed as a professional football player and leaned on artificial intelligence to make the whole fantasy look real, and where an Atlanta hustler built an entire brand around selling the dream of easy fraud. Along the way the siblings dig into fake wealth, blue check credibility, romance traps, and the uncomfortable question sitting underneath all of it. In a world where a photo, a search result, or a bank balance can be manufactured, how do you actually know what is real anymore? It is funny, it is sharp, and it just might change the way you look at your feed. Pull up a seat for another round.

Summary
Episode 339 opens in the trenches of modern dating, where Bruce and his sister Jay Aundrea trade stories about first dates, the lost art of the pump fake, and a real sibling standoff over whether a relationship that ended should count as a failure at all. The banter is loose and funny, and it sets up the heavier turn to come.
From there the siblings follow the money into the world of digital scams. They break down the case of a man who allegedly posed as a professional football player and used artificial intelligence to make the fantasy look legitimate, then pivot to an Atlanta hustler who tried to turn selling fraud tutorials into a business of its own. Along the way they get into fake wealth, blue check credibility, romance traps, pig butchering, and the practical question of how anyone protects themselves now. It all builds to one uncomfortable takeaway about the age we live in, where the appearance of proof can be manufactured as easily as the lie itself.
About The Hosts
Jay Aundrea is Bruce's sister and co-host on the Sibling Happy Hour format. She is the direct, quick-to-clarity counterweight to Bruce's more nuanced take, and their genuine disagreements are what drive the show.
Host Bruce Anthony is the founder of Unsolicited Perspectives, a podcast covering important events and topics shaping today's society.
Key Takeaways
- Effort is the real signal in dating. Genuine interest shows up as plans, pursuit, and follow-through, not just words.
- A relationship that ends is not automatically a failure. Bruce pushes back hard on the idea that anything short of forever counts as a loss.
- Google is a search engine, not an answer machine. Stopping at the AI overview instead of clicking through to the source is how people get fooled.
- Flashy proof of wealth is often a red flag. If someone has to show receipts to prove they have money, they probably do not have it.
- Ego is the scammer's best tool. The victims who want the fantasy to be real are the easiest to keep on the hook.
- Pig butchering follows a pattern. Romance scams build trust first, introduce a fake opportunity, then drain the target slowly.
- Protect yourself with simple habits. Never send money to someone you only met online, run a reverse image search, and treat any AI answer as a starting point rather than a verdict.
- The real story is about evidence. When photos, balances, and search results can all be faked, the skill worth building is questioning the proof itself, which is skepticism, not cynicism.
Quotes
"Google is a search engine. It's not an answer machine. You're supposed to then click the links that pop up. Some of y'all stop at the Google and you think that's the end of the search." — Jay Aundrea
"If somebody is showing you all these receipts to prove that they got money, it means they don't have it. Because if they actually had money, you would see the wealth on them." — Jay Aundrea
"That's not a mastermind. That's a failed criminal entrepreneur. And prosecutors basically said his boldness was only matched by his ineptitude." — Bruce Anthony
"Atlanta is the scamming capital of the world. I believe one in three people, this is a statistic I completely made up right now on the spot, but one in three people in this city is scamming." — Bruce Anthony
"We're entering a world where the appearance of proof can be manufactured just as easily as the lie itself." — Bruce Anthony
"I don't think the answer is to stop believing everything. That's not skepticism, that's cynicism." — Bruce Anthony

[00:00:49] We gonna be [00:00:50] dilly-daddling a little bit, [00:00:51] and then the rest [00:00:52] of the episode [00:00:53] is about [00:00:54] scamming.
[00:00:55] And if you've been paying [00:00:56] attention to the news, [00:00:57] you know what we about to [00:00:58] talk about. But that's [00:00:59] enough of the intro. [00:01:00] Let's get to the [00:01:01] show
Bruce Anthony: [00:01:02] [00:01:03] [00:01:04] [00:01:05] [00:01:06] [00:01:07] [00:01:08] [00:01:09] [00:01:10] What up, sis?[00:01:11]
Jay Aundrea: What up, brother?
Bruce Anthony: [00:01:12] I can't call [00:01:13] it, I can't call [00:01:14] it. I had an [00:01:15] interesting [00:01:16] [00:01:17] conversation
Jay Aundrea: [00:01:18] Okay
Bruce Anthony: with [00:01:19] somebody the other [00:01:20] day, [00:01:21] and I'm gonna [00:01:22] let a little bit of my [00:01:23] personal life [00:01:24] come out on [00:01:25] this episode.[00:01:26]
Jay Aundrea: It's rare, but it [00:01:27] happens
Bruce Anthony: rare, but [00:01:28] this happens. A- [00:01:29] and, and we've talked [00:01:30] about [00:01:31] this subject [00:01:32] before,[00:01:33]
Jay Aundrea: Okay[00:01:34] [00:01:35]
Bruce Anthony: but I have a [00:01:36] different [00:01:37] [00:01:38] angle that I wanna [00:01:39] hit on [00:01:40] it.
Jay Aundrea: Sure. Okay[00:01:41]
Bruce Anthony: So I had a [00:01:42] friend who [00:01:43] introduced me [00:01:44] to her [00:01:45] friend
Jay Aundrea: [00:01:46] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: and [00:01:47] [00:01:48] hook us up,
Jay Aundrea: a, [00:01:49] make a connection.[00:01:50]
Bruce Anthony: a love [00:01:51] connection, right?
Jay Aundrea: Right[00:01:52]
Bruce Anthony: [00:01:53] And the [00:01:54] connection didn't connect. [00:01:55] Like, it [00:01:56] was-- the, the, the [00:01:57] physical [00:01:58] attractiveness was [00:01:59] there. The [00:02:00] physical chemistry was [00:02:01] there. [00:02:02] Uh, you could [00:02:03] tell that we only hung [00:02:04] out a couple times. [00:02:05] You could tell that, [00:02:06] like, immediately, [00:02:07] like, okay, we [00:02:08] feeling each other physically.
[00:02:09] But as we [00:02:10] got to talk to [00:02:11]
The Setup Date That Fizzled: Great Chemistry, No Real Future 💔😅🤷
Bruce Anthony: each other more, [00:02:12] there weren't [00:02:13] anything like, I [00:02:14] think this person is [00:02:15] horrible, or this person [00:02:16] thinks I'm horrible.[00:02:17]
Jay Aundrea: It just [00:02:18] wasn't clicking
Bruce Anthony: it's just [00:02:19] not gonna-- it's not [00:02:20] going to [00:02:21] long-term click, [00:02:22] right? And I'm at an age [00:02:23] now, ain't no re- [00:02:24] I, I done did enough [00:02:25] short-term [00:02:26] situationships, don't need to do it[00:02:27]
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, [00:02:28] we're done. We're done [00:02:29] with those
Bruce Anthony: [00:02:30] So I backed away, [00:02:31] right?
I didn't [00:02:32] feel like there needed to [00:02:33] be a conversation [00:02:34] after only really hanging out with [00:02:35] the person [00:02:36] twice.
Jay Aundrea: [00:02:37] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: So [00:02:38] just, you know, we're [00:02:39] still [00:02:40] friendly, just [00:02:41] we don't hang [00:02:42] out.
Jay Aundrea: You're [00:02:43] right
Bruce Anthony: [00:02:44] So s- my [00:02:45] friend that introduced us [00:02:46] hit me up the other day and was like, [00:02:47] "I got another f- friend I [00:02:48] wanna introduce you to."[00:02:49]
Jay Aundrea: Listen. Listen. All
Bruce Anthony: like, "We're [00:02:50] gonna try this again [00:02:51] when the last one didn't work [00:02:52] out, but okay. [00:02:53] All right." [00:02:54] [00:02:55] Uh, [00:02:56] and, and [00:02:57] my [00:02:58] friend said [00:02:59] that the other [00:03:00] woman that she introduced me [00:03:01] to was basically [00:03:02] like, yeah, he [00:03:03] wasn't... [00:03:04] I forget what the [00:03:05] exact term [00:03:06] was, but that he [00:03:07] wasn't a [00:03:08] planner, didn't make [00:03:09] plans, didn't, [00:03:10] didn't, didn't show,[00:03:11]
Jay Aundrea: is the first [00:03:12] woman.
Bruce Anthony: This is the first [00:03:13] woman, that I didn't [00:03:14] show, [00:03:15] um, not [00:03:16] aggression,
Jay Aundrea: [00:03:17] Initiative, [00:03:18] but just like you, [00:03:19] you didn't [00:03:20] pursue. You didn't pursue.
Bruce Anthony: [00:03:21] like I didn't [00:03:22] pursue.
And [00:03:23] then I was like, oh, [00:03:24] okay. I, [00:03:25] I never said [00:03:26] anything 'cause [00:03:27] this [00:03:28] person, my friend, we're a [00:03:29] mutual friend, so [00:03:30] I didn't say [00:03:31] anything. I was just like, [00:03:32] okay, whatever. [00:03:33] Uh, the [00:03:34] reason why we didn't talk, I [00:03:35] just said things didn't work out. But [00:03:36] this person wanted [00:03:37] to give sort of [00:03:38] specifics and kind of [00:03:39] put the blame on me.[00:03:40]
I [00:03:41] felt a little type of way [00:03:42] about it 'cause I don't [00:03:43] want dirt [00:03:44] on my name out [00:03:45] there in the streets. [00:03:46] But [00:03:47] ultimately, I don't [00:03:48] care.
Jay Aundrea: [00:03:49] Yes
Bruce Anthony: So [00:03:50]
Do Men Lack Initiative In Dating? Bruce Sets The Record Straight 🙋🔥💬
Bruce Anthony: my [00:03:51] friend, when [00:03:52] relaying this message to me, [00:03:53] I was like, "Oh, okay." [00:03:54] And then [00:03:55] my friend said, "What's [00:03:56] wrong with you [00:03:57] guys and [00:03:58] dating? [00:03:59] It's like [00:04:00] nobody is showing [00:04:01] initiative. [00:04:02] Nobody is making plans."
I [00:04:03] said, "Hold on. [00:04:04] That's not [00:04:05] true." [00:04:06] Men [00:04:07] absolutely do those [00:04:08] things
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:04:09] when they're [00:04:10] interested in the woman.
Jay Aundrea: [00:04:11] Right[00:04:12]
Bruce Anthony: A- and, and [00:04:13] women are [00:04:14] out there, [00:04:15] it-- because my friend [00:04:16] was like, "Oh." [00:04:17] And I was like, women [00:04:18] are out there thinking [00:04:19] that men are [00:04:20] just lazy and, and [00:04:21] granted, [00:04:22] sometimes men are, [00:04:23] right?
Jay Aundrea: some, [00:04:24] some of y'all are.[00:04:25]
Bruce Anthony: But [00:04:26] also [00:04:27] when we actually [00:04:28] care, [00:04:29] oh, [00:04:30] we'll go to the ends [00:04:31] of the earth for [00:04:32] that person.
We'll do [00:04:33] whatever they wanna do. [00:04:34] We'll fly 'em out on trips. [00:04:35] Like we'll do, we'll [00:04:36] plan, we'll do [00:04:37] extravagant [00:04:38] things. Just look at [00:04:39] [00:04:40] proposals that men do. [00:04:41] Like men [00:04:42] will [00:04:43] absolutely can plan and [00:04:44] will do.[00:04:45]
Jay Aundrea: There was a [00:04:46] whole movie [00:04:47] [00:04:48] called "He's Just Not That [00:04:49] Into You,"
Bruce Anthony: Yeah.[00:04:50]
Jay Aundrea: and, and [00:04:51] women [00:04:52] still [00:04:53] have such [00:04:54] difficulty with this. [00:04:55] [00:04:56] Um, [00:04:57] I [00:04:58] don't know why[00:04:59]
Bruce Anthony: Um, [00:05:00] [00:05:01] 'cause people want what they [00:05:02] want,
Jay Aundrea: I [00:05:03] guess
Bruce Anthony: people [00:05:04] want what they want. And then [00:05:05] people [00:05:06] create these fantasies in their... [00:05:07] You got fantasies [00:05:08] in your head. They [00:05:09] create these fantasies in [00:05:10] their head, and then they [00:05:11] want, they're like, "This is the [00:05:12] way it should be." [00:05:13] Uh, [00:05:14] and I'm not saying it's [00:05:15] just women. [00:05:16] I'm saying [00:05:17] majority of the [00:05:18] time it
Jay Aundrea: [00:05:19] No, it's definitely-- [00:05:20] No, [00:05:21] let me tell you, [00:05:22] here's where it comes [00:05:23] in, here's [00:05:24] where it's men.
Bruce Anthony: [00:05:25] Okay.
Jay Aundrea: [00:05:26] Rejection[00:05:27]
Bruce Anthony: Mm, [00:05:28] mm-hmm
Jay Aundrea: not [00:05:29] being able to [00:05:30] accept that and [00:05:31] still, like, [00:05:32] pursuing when it's clear. It's like, [00:05:33] "Hey, I don't, I [00:05:34] don't really see you like that." [00:05:35] "I don't understand. [00:05:36] I'm a good [00:05:37] guy. I'm a g-" You know, [00:05:38] that's when it [00:05:39] comes into, and I'm [00:05:40] like, okay, so [00:05:41] everybody's out here delulu[00:05:42]
Bruce Anthony: Yeah. [00:05:43] Okay, that's true. [00:05:44] [00:05:45] Um, I [00:05:46] also said to [00:05:47] my friend, I [00:05:48] was like, "This is just [00:05:49] generally speaking. This [00:05:50] isn't talking about [00:05:51] the particular [00:05:52] situation [00:05:53] that she set [00:05:54] me up with."
Jay Aundrea: [00:05:55] Mm.[00:05:56]
Bruce Anthony: Even though it was. [00:05:57] Um, [00:05:58] and [00:05:59] she might hear this, [00:06:00] but okay, [00:06:01] whatever. Uh, [00:06:02] it is what it is. I'm [00:06:03] 46 years old. I don't really [00:06:04] give a damn if, uh...[00:06:05]
Jay Aundrea: at this point,[00:06:06]
Bruce Anthony: Pump faking, [00:06:07] and I've said this [00:06:08] before,[00:06:09]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:06:10] extremely important.[00:06:11]
Jay Aundrea: Yeah
Bruce Anthony: For [00:06:12]
The Pump Fake, First Dates And Who Should Really Pay The Bill 💳🍴😏
Bruce Anthony: those people who don't [00:06:13] understand what pump faking [00:06:14] is, pump faking is when [00:06:15] the bill comes to the [00:06:16] table, the [00:06:17] woman acts [00:06:18] like [00:06:19] she [00:06:20] might split [00:06:21] with or she's [00:06:22] going into her pocket [00:06:23] to [00:06:24] insinuate that they [00:06:25] might go halfsies. Now, [00:06:26] I understand [00:06:27] that men out here are [00:06:28] saying, "Cool."[00:06:29]
Once [00:06:30] again, if that man says, [00:06:31] "Cool[00:06:32]
Jay Aundrea: Pay that [00:06:33] bill and never [00:06:34] call him again.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, that [00:06:35] man, yeah, yeah. [00:06:36] Like, like [00:06:37] we know if [00:06:38] even if we are [00:06:39] broke, like we know what [00:06:40] we have when we go [00:06:41] out with y'all, and [00:06:42] we might, [00:06:43] we might just be [00:06:44] like, "All right, I'm just not gonna [00:06:45] order a whole lot. She [00:06:46] can get whatever she [00:06:47] wants." That's what we do if we [00:06:48] like somebody, [00:06:49] we truly like [00:06:50] somebody. If we like, [00:06:51] "Yeah, we just gonna split," [00:06:52] I'm talking about like the [00:06:53] first couple of dates, [00:06:54] not when y'all been [00:06:55] together.
When y'all [00:06:56] been together,[00:06:57]
Jay Aundrea: It's [00:06:58] usually-- It should be [00:06:59] a mixed bag of [00:07:00] like who pays
Bruce Anthony: [00:07:01] yes. But I'm [00:07:02] talking about like the first couple of [00:07:03] dates. First of all, I'm [00:07:04] old school. [00:07:05] Men always pay on the [00:07:06] first date, and any [00:07:07] date after that, [00:07:08] if you've asked her [00:07:09] out, pay the [00:07:10] bill
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, [00:07:11] it, it's really, [00:07:12] it really should [00:07:13] be the person who [00:07:14] asked
Bruce Anthony: [00:07:15] Should be. [00:07:16] Should be.
Jay Aundrea: [00:07:17] Yeah
Bruce Anthony: [00:07:18] But my friend was [00:07:19] like, who's [00:07:20] from a different [00:07:21] country, was like, [00:07:22] "American men [00:07:23] [00:07:24] are [00:07:25] different because men [00:07:26] [00:07:27] overseas, if women, [00:07:28] like, [00:07:29] offer to pay, they, [00:07:30] they [00:07:31] really get [00:07:32] offended." And I was [00:07:33] like, "Okay, cool. You [00:07:34] in America. [00:07:35] Been here for a long [00:07:36] time. Uh, [00:07:37] w- [00:07:38] we're not gonna get offended. [00:07:39] We're looking [00:07:40] for that.
As a matter of [00:07:41] fact, that ick [00:07:42] that you get when [00:07:43] having to split the check [00:07:44] on the first date [00:07:45] is the same [00:07:46] ick that we [00:07:47] get when the woman [00:07:48] doesn't pop fake."[00:07:49]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: And my [00:07:50] friend was like, "Well, I [00:07:51] never, I never reach for my bill [00:07:52] on the first date." I was like, [00:07:53] "Mm. [00:07:54] You might be having a [00:07:55] lot of first dates [00:07:56] [00:07:57] because of that."
[00:07:58] Because I [00:07:59] will give somebody [00:08:00] the benefit of the doubt [00:08:01] on the first date[00:08:02]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:08:03] [00:08:04] anxiety, y- you're [00:08:05] nervous, things [00:08:06] are going on
Jay Aundrea: And you, and you also don't [00:08:07] want [00:08:08] to, like, [00:08:09] [00:08:10] emasculate
Bruce Anthony: [00:08:11] I [00:08:12] understand
Jay Aundrea: [00:08:13] by saying, [00:08:14] "We can split it." [00:08:15] You know, 'cause then it's [00:08:16] like, "What, you think I ain't [00:08:17] got it?" Like, [00:08:18] so it's, it's [00:08:19] c- it can [00:08:20] be difficult [00:08:21] to navigate that [00:08:22] situation [00:08:23] [00:08:24] because you don't [00:08:25] wanna insult the [00:08:26] other [00:08:27] person, [00:08:28] um, but you [00:08:29] also don't wanna just [00:08:30] assume [00:08:31] that it's on [00:08:32] them.[00:08:33]
Bruce Anthony: I'm gonna give women a [00:08:34]
A Step By Step Tutorial For The Perfect First Date Pump Fake 👜✅😬
Bruce Anthony: tutorial on how to [00:08:35] do the proper pump fake [00:08:36] because [00:08:37] I, I've [00:08:38] heard women's [00:08:39] responses just [00:08:40] like what you just gave [00:08:41] me, [00:08:42] and that is [00:08:43] valid.
Jay Aundrea: Yeah[00:08:44]
Bruce Anthony: So [00:08:45] all you have to [00:08:46] do is [00:08:47] silently, when the [00:08:48] bill [00:08:49] drops, [00:08:50] [00:08:51] just start [00:08:52] rummaging [00:08:53] around in your purse or your [00:08:54] bag or something.[00:08:55]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.[00:08:56]
Bruce Anthony: That's all [00:08:57] you really have to [00:08:58] do.
Might [00:08:59] even go so [00:09:00] far as to pull [00:09:01] out your wallet. [00:09:02] [00:09:03] If he hadn't [00:09:04] said, "Hey, [00:09:05] uh, don't worry about it," 'cause [00:09:06] he might just be focused [00:09:07] on the bill and not seeing [00:09:08] what you're doing. [00:09:09] You don't have [00:09:10] to say anything. [00:09:11] The saying [00:09:12] something [00:09:13] does-- it can, I [00:09:14] guess, for some men [00:09:15] emasculate them, [00:09:16] right? But it's the [00:09:17] movement.
It's, [00:09:18] it's, it's a pump [00:09:19] fake. You know, it's [00:09:20] just like a [00:09:21] basketball. You got the basketball, [00:09:22] you fake it in [00:09:23] one [00:09:24] direction
Jay Aundrea: please explain to people [00:09:25] what a [00:09:26] actual pump
Bruce Anthony: A [00:09:27] pump fake is you got the [00:09:28] ball in your [00:09:29] hands and you [00:09:30] fake the [00:09:31] ball in one direction [00:09:32] like you're going in that [00:09:33] direction, but you're not. [00:09:34] It's a fake, [00:09:35] right? Pump [00:09:36] fake. Just [00:09:37] act like [00:09:38] you're moving [00:09:39] towards your purse.[00:09:40]
He's gonna be [00:09:41] like, "Hey, hey, hey. [00:09:42] No, no, no. Don't wor- [00:09:43] like this is on me. [00:09:44] I, I wanted to take you [00:09:45] out." That's, [00:09:46] for, for men out [00:09:47] there, that's your [00:09:48] response. [00:09:49] You now... [00:09:50] It's a little d- [00:09:51] it's a little [00:09:52] dance. It's a [00:09:53] little dance. [00:09:54] Dating is all [00:09:55] about little [00:09:56] dances, right? [00:09:57] That's [00:09:58] all you gotta do. Women, [00:09:59] you ain't gotta say
Jay Aundrea: [00:10:00] better than me [00:10:01] 'cause I'd [00:10:02] be, 'cause y'all better [00:10:03] than me 'cause I'd be at [00:10:04] the table, as soon as that [00:10:05] bill come, I'd be like, "You got this, [00:10:06] right?"[00:10:07]
Bruce Anthony: [00:10:08] Well, yeah. [00:10:09] [00:10:10] As we [00:10:11] always say, you're the [00:10:12] son our father [00:10:13] always wanted. [00:10:14] Anyway, uh,[00:10:15] [00:10:16] [00:10:17]
Jay Aundrea: And am.[00:10:18]
Bruce Anthony: a- a- [00:10:19] yeah, and, uh, and, [00:10:20] um, [00:10:21] yeah. [00:10:22] So, and I was [00:10:23] explaining that to her, [00:10:24] and I was like, "Yo, this [00:10:25] is, this is a [00:10:26] thing." J- [00:10:27] women have these icks [00:10:28] out there, right? [00:10:29] Men gotta be a certain [00:10:30] height. They [00:10:31] gotta, they gotta carry [00:10:32] themselves a certain way.[00:10:33]
And [00:10:34] I'm not saying this [00:10:35] about all women, [00:10:36] but [00:10:37] when men [00:10:38] have icks, they wanna [00:10:39] have issues [00:10:40] with the icks. [00:10:41] Look, y'all [00:10:42] got yours. [00:10:43] We got [00:10:44] ours. It's [00:10:45] okay. And [00:10:46] if things don't [00:10:47] align, fine. [00:10:48] I've had [00:10:49] way more [00:10:50] relationships [00:10:51] and situations and [00:10:52] dates that didn't work [00:10:53] out than actually did[00:10:54]
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, ' [00:10:55]
Is Every Ended Relationship Truly A Failure? The Siblings Clash 💔🥊😤
Jay Aundrea: cause that's the [00:10:56] scen- that's, [00:10:57] that's how it [00:10:58] works. Like, [00:10:59] [00:11:00] ideally, in an [00:11:01] ideal world, not to [00:11:02] say that I subscribe to [00:11:03] this, but [00:11:04] ideally, [00:11:05] uh, [00:11:06] you're with one [00:11:07] person until you die. [00:11:08] So that means all the [00:11:09] rest of your [00:11:10] relationships are failures, [00:11:11] [00:11:12] that's [00:11:13] just
Bruce Anthony: mm. No, [00:11:14] all your other re-- I don't, [00:11:15] I don't like the word [00:11:16] failure. All
your other [00:11:17] relationships end. [00:11:18] Yeah, they end[00:11:19]
Jay Aundrea: uh, well, [00:11:20] that makes them a failure, [00:11:21] right?
Because the point [00:11:22] of a, the point of a [00:11:23] relationship [00:11:24] [00:11:25] ultimately, like we're [00:11:26] looking for that [00:11:27] person that we're supposed to [00:11:28] spend our life with, [00:11:29] so if it [00:11:30] doesn't end up [00:11:31] that way, then it [00:11:32] didn't hit the goal, [00:11:33] which means...
Bruce Anthony: [00:11:34] Oh, see, I, [00:11:35] see, I think
Jay Aundrea: you [00:11:36] come from-- [00:11:37] See, you come from a [00:11:38] generation where they get [00:11:39] participation trophies.[00:11:40]
Some- it's [00:11:41] either first [00:11:42] place
Bruce Anthony: I don't get it. [00:11:43] No, [00:11:44] I don't. [00:11:45] I, I am the [00:11:46] generation where you [00:11:47] actually had to earn... There [00:11:48] was no participation [00:11:49] trophies. That's [00:11:50] your generation.
Jay Aundrea: that's [00:11:51] my
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, that's [00:11:52] not my generation.[00:11:53]
Jay Aundrea: [00:11:54] but it's like you either [00:11:55] won or you [00:11:56] lost. Like that's, [00:11:57] you either hit [00:11:58] the mark or you [00:11:59] didn't. [00:12:00] And so like [00:12:01] most of your [00:12:02] relationships are [00:12:03] not going to work [00:12:04] out.[00:12:05]
Bruce Anthony: uh, uh, are, [00:12:06] are going to [00:12:07] end. But, [00:12:08] but [00:12:09] all relationships [00:12:10] end, [00:12:11] all of them[00:12:12]
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, [00:12:13] ideally when, when one [00:12:14] of you dies
Bruce Anthony: [00:12:15] But, uh,
Jay Aundrea: that's [00:12:16] what
Bruce Anthony: okay.[00:12:17]
Jay Aundrea: hope is[00:12:18]
Bruce Anthony: I, I don't like [00:12:19] the term failure [00:12:20] because it [00:12:21] means that, uh, [00:12:22] you failed, [00:12:23] [00:12:24] therefore nothing was [00:12:25] gained from being in [00:12:26] it, [00:12:27] and
Jay Aundrea: No, you [00:12:28] learn a lot from [00:12:29] failure[00:12:30] [00:12:31]
Bruce Anthony: Okay.[00:12:32]
Jay Aundrea: You do [00:12:33] learn a lot from
Bruce Anthony: You got... [00:12:34] This is true. [00:12:35] This is true. [00:12:36] [00:12:37] I just don't like the, I [00:12:38] don't like the term
Jay Aundrea: You [00:12:39] don't like the negative [00:12:40] connotation of
Bruce Anthony: I [00:12:41] don't like it
Jay Aundrea: look at the [00:12:42] word failure, [00:12:43] it just means that you didn't [00:12:44] succeed. And [00:12:45] like [00:12:46] yeah, we can [00:12:47] learn
Bruce Anthony: But not [00:12:48] everybody join- [00:12:49] gets into a [00:12:50] situation to be like, "I [00:12:51] want this to be my [00:12:52] forever." Sometimes people get [00:12:53] into a situation and [00:12:54] be like, "I want this to be [00:12:55] my right now." [00:12:56] And then in that
[00:12:57] sense,
Jay Aundrea: and I would say [00:12:58] that's nine, [00:12:59] nine times out of 10, [00:13:00] that is what the-- [00:13:01] that is the [00:13:02] intent. I'm saying, [00:13:03] and [00:13:04] ideally, [00:13:05] ideally [00:13:06] most of your [00:13:07] [00:13:08] [00:13:09] 99.99999% of [00:13:10] relationships are [00:13:11] not gonna work out [00:13:12] because the [00:13:13] i- the [00:13:14] hope is that you [00:13:15] just have the [00:13:16] one. [00:13:17] Uh, now is that a [00:13:18] reality? [00:13:19] No.
Bruce Anthony: [00:13:20] Mm-mm. I've [00:13:21] had many [00:13:22] relationships that have ended, [00:13:23] [00:13:24] but I've learned a [00:13:25] lot from them. [00:13:26] [00:13:27] So [00:13:28] yeah, I-
Jay Aundrea: [00:13:29] learn, I still think [00:13:30] you learn, I [00:13:31] honestly think you learn more from [00:13:32] your failures than you [00:13:33] do from your
Bruce Anthony: Oh, [00:13:34] absolutely. I [00:13:35] would throw this [00:13:36] down and be like, "Hey [00:13:37] everybody, leave [00:13:38] your comment about what you [00:13:39] think about my [00:13:40] situation." But I'm gonna be real honest [00:13:41] with you, you can. I don't [00:13:42] really give a shit. I, [00:13:43] I'll just be [00:13:44] real honest, I [00:13:45] don't care. Like, [00:13:46] look,
Jay Aundrea: [00:13:47] Oh,
Bruce Anthony: when my-[00:13:48]
Jay Aundrea: is the ultimate [00:13:49] question whether you should go [00:13:50] out with the second [00:13:51] person?
Bruce Anthony: [00:13:52] Well, no. So [00:13:53] when I broke it [00:13:54] down for my friend, [00:13:55] I was like, "Oh, you're having [00:13:56] reservations in introducing me [00:13:57] to your second friend, aren't you?" [00:13:58] She's like, [00:13:59] "Honestly, yep." And I was [00:14:00] like, "Cool, we-- You ain't [00:14:01] got to."
Jay Aundrea: you [00:14:02] don't have
Bruce Anthony: I'm not [00:14:03] d- knocking [00:14:04] down the [00:14:05] doors to be [00:14:06] introduced to [00:14:07] people. Let's [00:14:08] be honest, ladies and [00:14:09] gentlemen, [00:14:10] I'm a [00:14:11] decent-looking dude.[00:14:12]
Odds [00:14:13] are I could walk out [00:14:14] there on the street and [00:14:15] meet somebody. You [00:14:16] know how I know this to be [00:14:17] true? 'Cause [00:14:18] this happens [00:14:19] thousands of [00:14:20] times, okay? [00:14:21] It, it is not hard for [00:14:22] me to meet people. [00:14:23] I am a [00:14:24] personable person, [00:14:25] even though I'm an introvert. Don't [00:14:26] ask me to explain it, [00:14:27] it just is what it is. [00:14:28] So I [00:14:29] can meet people, [00:14:30] and I [00:14:31] don't have no [00:14:32] problem meeting women.
[00:14:33] I don't need nobody to [00:14:34] set me up. So if [00:14:35] my friend doesn't wanna [00:14:36] set me up, [00:14:37] okay. [00:14:38] Don't really [00:14:39] care.
Jay Aundrea: her track [00:14:40] record is not that great [00:14:41] anyway,
Bruce Anthony: No, she [00:14:42] ha- it was one for [00:14:43] one, and, [00:14:44] and, and [00:14:45] she wasn't [00:14:46] wrong [00:14:47] in that [00:14:48] the [00:14:49] personalities [00:14:50] mixed, the [00:14:51] physical attractiveness [00:14:52] was [00:14:53] there, it just, [00:14:54] I [00:14:55] knew that, okay, [00:14:56] our, [00:14:57] our-- [00:14:58] what we
Jay Aundrea: one to Spark[00:14:59]
Bruce Anthony: what... Yeah. [00:15:00] Uh, uh, w- [00:15:01] what we want out [00:15:02] of life is, it-- [00:15:03] that's [00:15:04] what I look at [00:15:05] nowadays.
What, what i- what [00:15:06]
Chasing Money Versus Staying A True Artist Who Can't Be Bought 🎨💰🚫
Bruce Anthony: is it that you want out [00:15:07] of life? [00:15:08] And I'm [00:15:09] not somebody, [00:15:10] quite frankly, [00:15:11] not to say this person [00:15:12] is, but I'm just [00:15:13] generally speaking, [00:15:14] I'm not somebody [00:15:15] who really gives a damn about [00:15:16] money. [00:15:17] Not in the [00:15:18] standpoint where [00:15:19] I'm [00:15:20] chasing money.
Jay Aundrea: [00:15:21] Right[00:15:22]
Bruce Anthony: I, I feel [00:15:23] like, this [00:15:24] is just my personal [00:15:25] opinion, [00:15:26] when [00:15:27] people chase [00:15:28] money, [00:15:29] [00:15:30] they-- their [00:15:31] morals are up [00:15:32] for sale.[00:15:33]
Their [00:15:34] principles and morals [00:15:35] are up for sale[00:15:36]
Jay Aundrea: [00:15:37] Certainly the [00:15:38] dignity is, [00:15:39] especially if you work in [00:15:40] corporate
Bruce Anthony: [00:15:41] Uh, okay. [00:15:42] [00:15:43] And, [00:15:44] and I [00:15:45] think the heart of me, [00:15:46] I truly [00:15:47] am an artist, [00:15:48] right? [00:15:49] Like that's, [00:15:50] that's what I am. I'm [00:15:51] a artist. [00:15:52] So [00:15:53] there's no [00:15:54] [00:15:55] [00:15:56] amount of money [00:15:57] that you could put [00:15:58] on my art [00:15:59] that would make [00:16:00] me suppress my [00:16:01] art to form it [00:16:02] to what you want [00:16:03] it to be, where there's [00:16:04] a lot of people out [00:16:05] there that will do that [00:16:06] all the [00:16:07] time.
[00:16:08] Um, [00:16:09] and I'm just not...[00:16:10]
Jay Aundrea: You can't be bought. You can't be bought
Bruce Anthony: [00:16:11] Yeah, somebody said [00:16:12] something crazy to me one [00:16:13] time, and [00:16:14] it was like [00:16:15] homosexual acts, [00:16:16] right? And it [00:16:17] was, um, [00:16:18] like, "If [00:16:19] somebody paid you this amount [00:16:20] of money, would you do it? [00:16:21] This amount of money, would you do it?" [00:16:22] And I'm like, "I'm not [00:16:23] gay. No, I, [00:16:24] I don't. [00:16:25] I-- No, there's no amount [00:16:26] of money. [00:16:27] There's no amount of money."
Like, [00:16:28] I'm not gay. Like if I [00:16:29] was a [00:16:30] vegetarian or vegan, [00:16:31] there's no amount of [00:16:32] money that you could pay me to [00:16:33] eat meat.[00:16:34]
Jay Aundrea: Right
Bruce Anthony: You [00:16:35] know, like it's just, [00:16:36] like I stand [00:16:37] on what I stand on. [00:16:38] Right or wrong, I'm a [00:16:39] principle person. I stand [00:16:40] on what I stand on. [00:16:41] So, [00:16:42] um, [00:16:43] no, the reason why I [00:16:44] brought all this up was [00:16:45] really the pump [00:16:46] faking thing, and [00:16:47] that my friend was just [00:16:48] like, "I didn't never [00:16:49] even heard of it, never [00:16:50] even, [00:16:51] like thought of that."
[00:16:52] And I was like, [00:16:53] [00:16:54] "Come on now, we, like [00:16:55] we're up here in age. [00:16:56] Everybody should [00:16:57] know this by now." Just a [00:16:58] general, it's [00:16:59] a, it's a common [00:17:00] courtesy, polite [00:17:01] thing
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, [00:17:02] we're not kids anymore. [00:17:03] We-- Come [00:17:04] on now[00:17:05]
Bruce Anthony: It's like when [00:17:06] you go to a [00:17:07] office party, [00:17:08] you are-- [00:17:09] you say hello [00:17:10] to everybody, [00:17:11] even if, [00:17:12] even though you don't [00:17:13] like Sarah[00:17:14]
Jay Aundrea: I [00:17:15] can't [00:17:16] stand Sarah.[00:17:17]
Bruce Anthony: But you gonna say [00:17:18] hello
Jay Aundrea: [00:17:19] I'ma say, "Hey, [00:17:20] girl.[00:17:21]
Bruce Anthony: You got to [00:17:22] fake it till you
Jay Aundrea: [00:17:23] doing? [00:17:24] Mm-hmm. How'd the... [00:17:25] What's, [00:17:26] what about your cat? [00:17:27] Mm. [00:17:28] [00:17:29] Mm-hmm. [00:17:30] It was acting like a [00:17:31] cat? Okay. Yeah.
Bruce Anthony: It was [00:17:32]
Music Minute: Dru Hill Versus Jagged Edge R&B Debate Heats Up 🎤🎶🔥
Bruce Anthony: acting like a cat. [00:17:33] O- [00:17:34] one quick thing before we get [00:17:35] out of here. [00:17:36] Completely [00:17:37] different topic. We're only [00:17:38] gonna spend two or three [00:17:39] minutes on it. That's [00:17:40] it, okay?
Jay Aundrea: [00:17:41] Okay. Okay[00:17:42] [00:17:43]
Bruce Anthony: Dru Hill or [00:17:44] Jagged Edge? [00:17:45] If they did a
Jay Aundrea: [00:17:46] Hill. Drew [00:17:47] Hill
Bruce Anthony: Okay, [00:17:48] so [00:17:49] my friend, [00:17:50] same age as you, [00:17:51] was like, [00:17:52] "Dru Hill would [00:17:53] win, [00:17:54] but I'm so much of [00:17:55] a Jagged Edge [00:17:56] fan, [00:17:57] I would [00:17:58] want them to [00:17:59] win, but Dru Hill [00:18:00] would win."
And then I [00:18:01] was thinking to [00:18:02] myself, [00:18:03] I don't even think it's [00:18:04] close. [00:18:05] Dru Hill has [00:18:06] too [00:18:07] many [00:18:08] hits. It seemed [00:18:09] like every song they [00:18:10] came out with was a [00:18:11] hit
Jay Aundrea: And, [00:18:12] and as long [00:18:13] as they have [00:18:14] the silky [00:18:15] smooth vocals of [00:18:16] Jaz [00:18:17] [00:18:18] and [00:18:19] the, [00:18:20] uh, what's the, [00:18:21] what's, what's my [00:18:22] mans from Jodeci? The, [00:18:23] the [00:18:24] KCS-esque [00:18:25] vocals
Bruce Anthony: the [00:18:26] raspiness of
Cisco
Jay Aundrea: [00:18:27] of [00:18:28] Sisqó. Um, [00:18:29] yeah, you just... [00:18:30] I'm sorry. [00:18:31] Here's the thing, and it's [00:18:32] not that I'm not a [00:18:33] Jagged Edge fan. I [00:18:34] 100% [00:18:35] am. Every [00:18:36] single summer [00:18:37] since this song [00:18:38] came out, [00:18:39] you will see [00:18:40] me riding around the [00:18:41] city with all my [00:18:42] windows down and my [00:18:43] moonroof open playing "Where The [00:18:44] Party At,"[00:18:45]
Bruce Anthony: Yeah.[00:18:46]
Jay Aundrea: because it's just a [00:18:47] great summer [00:18:48] song.
I play [00:18:49] [00:18:50] "Summertime," Will Smith and [00:18:51] Jazzy [00:18:52] Jeff, and then I [00:18:53] play [00:18:54] "Where The Party At." [00:18:55] That's, those [00:18:56] are my two summertime [00:18:57] songs, so it's not like [00:18:58] I'm not a fan, [00:18:59] but come [00:19:00] on. [00:19:01] [00:19:02] Come on.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, I [00:19:03] mean, it's Dru Hill.[00:19:04]
Jay Aundrea: Soon as they break [00:19:05] out beauty, [00:19:06] sleeping in my bed, [00:19:07] uh, uh, the five [00:19:08] steps. [00:19:09] Like, come on. [00:19:10] Come on, man. [00:19:11] It's Dru [00:19:12] Hill
Bruce Anthony: Uh, what [00:19:13] is, what is my [00:19:14] favorite song from Dru [00:19:15] Hill? [00:19:16] Um [00:19:17] [00:19:18] [00:19:19] Never Make a Promise [00:19:20] is one of my favorites.[00:19:21]
Jay Aundrea: That's a good one. [00:19:22] That's a good one[00:19:23]
Bruce Anthony: we're not gonna [00:19:24] fall down this rabbit hole, but [00:19:25] I just wanted to get [00:19:26] your, I just wanted [00:19:27] to get your thoughts [00:19:28] on it 'cause [00:19:29] Dru Hill. [00:19:30] And they only had-- [00:19:31] They had three [00:19:32] albums, but they really [00:19:33] only had two.[00:19:34]
Jay Aundrea: [00:19:35] Yes.
Bruce Anthony: really only[00:19:36]
Jay Aundrea: 'cause that third [00:19:37] album, I don't know if[00:19:38]
Bruce Anthony: got one jam [00:19:39] on that third album. That, [00:19:40] that first [00:19:41] song on that third [00:19:42] album is great, [00:19:43] but [00:19:44] it was too much [00:19:45] infighting and, [00:19:46] uh, Woody had left [00:19:47] and came back, [00:19:48] and [00:19:49] Jazz was in [00:19:50] rehab, and
[00:19:51] It was all, types
Jay Aundrea: it was [00:19:52] all kind of things [00:19:53] going on. But, [00:19:54] um, [00:19:55] uh, [00:19:56] yeah, sorry, I'm [00:19:57] looking over their top [00:19:58] hits and [00:19:59] fan favorites [00:20:00] now. It's like, nope, [00:20:01] come on
Bruce Anthony: [00:20:02] "These Are the Times" is [00:20:03] also one of my favorite [00:20:04] songs
Jay Aundrea: These Are the [00:20:05] Times, Tell [00:20:06] Me, How Deep [00:20:07] Is Your Love, [00:20:08] Never Make a [00:20:09] Promise, In My [00:20:10] Bed, We Not [00:20:11] Making Love No [00:20:12] More from the Soul [00:20:13] Food [00:20:14] soundtrack. You [00:20:15] Are [00:20:16] Everything, that
Bruce Anthony: You Are [00:20:17] Everything [00:20:18] remix is even [00:20:19] better. The [00:20:20] remix is even [00:20:21] better, yes
Jay Aundrea: I [00:20:22] mean, come on. Five [00:20:23] Steps, Beauty, come [00:20:24] on.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, I [00:20:25] mean, Jagged Edge got [00:20:26] some hits, [00:20:27] but, uh, just [00:20:28] not on Dru [00:20:29] Hill's. But that's our just [00:20:30] our little music [00:20:31] minute. [00:20:32] But I said [00:20:33] something earlier. I [00:20:34] said fake it [00:20:35] until you make [00:20:36] it. And [00:20:37] boy, oh [00:20:38] boy, do these [00:20:39] next two [00:20:40] segments really [00:20:41] emphasize people [00:20:42] faking it [00:20:43] until they kinda made [00:20:44] it.
Bruce Anthony: [00:20:45] [00:20:46] [00:20:47] [00:20:48] [00:20:49] [00:20:50] [00:20:51] [00:20:52] What if the [00:20:53] person you thought you were [00:20:54] googling [00:20:55] [00:20:56] was the person that [00:20:57] was actually lying to [00:20:58] you? The FBI [00:20:59] says [00:21:00] Dejon or [00:21:01] Dejon or whatever the [00:21:02] boy's name is [00:21:03] Love spent four [00:21:04] years pretending to be a [00:21:05] San Francisco [00:21:06] 49er wide [00:21:07] receiver, and [00:21:08] prosecutors say he didn't [00:21:09] do it alone. [00:21:10] The allege-- [00:21:11] He, they allege [00:21:12] he and an 18-year-old [00:21:13] accomplice used [00:21:14] dating apps to scam [00:21:15] more than two [00:21:16] dozen women out [00:21:17] of roughly [00:21:18] $1.3 [00:21:19] [00:21:20] [00:21:21] [00:21:22] million.
[00:21:23] But here's where it gets [00:21:24] real crazy. Some of the [00:21:25] women got [00:21:26] suspicious. Uh, they [00:21:27] did what you're supposed to [00:21:28] do. They googled him, [00:21:29] and Google [00:21:30] said he was [00:21:31] real. AI [00:21:32] said that he was [00:21:33] real, so this man has [00:21:34] allegedly took the [00:21:35] lie, got the [00:21:36] machine to back [00:21:37] up the lie, [00:21:38] and then [00:21:39] screenshotted the [00:21:40] machine's answer and sent [00:21:41] it back to the [00:21:42] victims as proof.[00:21:43]
Jay Aundrea: [00:21:44] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: about that for a [00:21:45] second. The [00:21:46] thing these women used [00:21:47] to fact-check the [00:21:48] scam became [00:21:49] part of the [00:21:50] scam. [00:21:51] Now, everything here [00:21:52] is alleged, so I [00:21:53]
DaeJon Love: The Fake NFL Star Who Turned AI Into His Accomplice 🏈🤖🚨
Bruce Anthony: wanna just [00:21:54] focus on the [00:21:55] fact that Mr. Dejon [00:21:56] Love has not [00:21:57] been convicted of [00:21:58] anything yet. [00:21:59] But if [00:22:00] the prosecutors are [00:22:01] right, we're [00:22:02] not just talking about a [00:22:03] romance scam.
We're [00:22:04] talking about a [00:22:05] scammer who figured out how [00:22:06] to make AI [00:22:07] his accomplice. [00:22:08] Now, [00:22:09] Jay, you hit [00:22:10] me up when we did [00:22:11] the after-hours like, [00:22:12] "We didn't talk about this." I [00:22:13] said, "Don't worry. [00:22:14] It is all the [00:22:15] second segment of [00:22:16] the main show," [00:22:17] because we had to [00:22:18] talk about this. [00:22:19] It's been all on [00:22:20] social media, the [00:22:21] guy that pretended to [00:22:22] be an NFL wide [00:22:23] receiver scamming [00:22:24] women out of money.
[00:22:25] You said you had a [00:22:26] lot of things to, [00:22:27] to talk about [00:22:28] about this. [00:22:29] Before I even get to the [00:22:30] key facts, I'm gonna [00:22:31] just let you say [00:22:32] your piece on [00:22:33] all of this that was [00:22:34] going on[00:22:35]
Jay Aundrea: Well, my very [00:22:36]
Google Is A Search Engine Not Proof: Verify Every Source First 🔍💻🧾
Jay Aundrea: first [00:22:37] thing is [00:22:38] to-- [00:22:39] and I think this, [00:22:40] this, [00:22:41] like the [00:22:42] plot gets lost a [00:22:43] little, a little bit [00:22:44] [00:22:45] because it [00:22:46] has AI built [00:22:47] in, but [00:22:48] Google is a [00:22:49] search engine.
Bruce Anthony: [00:22:50] Mm-hmm.[00:22:51]
Jay Aundrea: It's not a [00:22:52] answer machine. [00:22:53] You're supposed [00:22:54] to then click [00:22:55] the [00:22:56] links [00:22:57] that pop up, [00:22:58] one of which [00:22:59] would've been [00:23:00] the [00:23:01] official [00:23:02] [00:23:03] nfl.com San [00:23:04] Francisco 49ers [00:23:05] roster, [00:23:06] and you [00:23:07] look up number [00:23:08] seven, [00:23:09] look up [00:23:10] number seven, [00:23:11] and you notice [00:23:12] that it's not [00:23:13] DeJon [00:23:14] Love.
Some of y'all [00:23:15] stop at the [00:23:16] Google,
Bruce Anthony: [00:23:17] Mm-hmm.
Jay Aundrea: and [00:23:18] you think that that's the [00:23:19] end of the [00:23:20] search. No, that's the [00:23:21] search [00:23:22] engine. You [00:23:23] have to [00:23:24] then click the [00:23:25] links [00:23:26] and, and [00:23:27] continue to do so. Some [00:23:28] of y'all be like, [00:23:29] "I did my [00:23:30] research." No, you [00:23:31] didn't, [00:23:32] 'cause you [00:23:33] never clicked a [00:23:34] link to [00:23:35] verify [00:23:36] what the AI is [00:23:37] saying. The AI [00:23:38] [00:23:39] is going [00:23:40] to just-- [00:23:41] A-again, [00:23:42] it's not [00:23:43] thinking.[00:23:44]
It is a [00:23:45] model that predicts [00:23:46] the next [00:23:47] word, right? [00:23:48] So [00:23:49] it [00:23:50] is going to [00:23:51] scrape the internet, [00:23:52] and it's gonna find [00:23:53] him [00:23:54] perpetrating, [00:23:55] and it'll say, [00:23:56] "Yes, this [00:23:57] person is [00:23:58] real, and he is [00:23:59] a member [00:24:00] of the San Francisco [00:24:01] 49ers." Why? [00:24:02] Because he's put that on [00:24:03] the internet.
Bruce Anthony: [00:24:04] Mm-hmm.
Jay Aundrea: [00:24:05] You gotta [00:24:06] then look up the [00:24:07] roster. [00:24:08] [00:24:09] Some of y'all don't take that [00:24:10] extra [00:24:11] step to [00:24:12] verify.[00:24:13]
You say [00:24:14] the, the, the phrase [00:24:15] is trust but [00:24:16] verify. You [00:24:17] got to [00:24:18] [00:24:19] verify, and that's where some of [00:24:20] y'all fall short, [00:24:21] 'cause ain't no [00:24:22] way. [00:24:23] [00:24:24] [00:24:25] In 22-- Here's [00:24:26] how you know [00:24:27] he was [00:24:28] scamming [00:24:29] the ladies that's [00:24:30] not [00:24:31] really, [00:24:32] um, chasing [00:24:33] ballplayers, 'cause [00:24:34] there's ladies that are [00:24:35] out there that are [00:24:36] chasing [00:24:37] ballplayers. And let me [00:24:38] tell you something about these [00:24:39] ladies.
They [00:24:40] know your [00:24:41] stats. [00:24:42] They know your net [00:24:43] worth. [00:24:44] They know who [00:24:45] you dated, who your [00:24:46] mama is, your [00:24:47] favorite color, what kind [00:24:48] of food you [00:24:49] like. Like, [00:24:50] those ladies [00:24:51] are already-- [00:24:52] They know who the [00:24:53] players are, so that's how I [00:24:54] know he didn't [00:24:55] target ladies that [00:24:56] are actually [00:24:57] about that life. [00:24:58] That's number [00:24:59] one. Number [00:25:00] two, [00:25:01] y'all- [00:25:02] [00:25:03] Got to be [00:25:04] more discerning. [00:25:05] [00:25:06] [00:25:07] [00:25:08] [00:25:09] [00:25:10] Okay? You just [00:25:11] gotta be. You [00:25:12] just gotta [00:25:13] be. And the thing [00:25:14] of, the thing of it [00:25:15] is, is that [00:25:16] our [00:25:17] own [00:25:18] egos [00:25:19] [00:25:20] [00:25:21] sometimes will [00:25:22] have us believe in [00:25:23] BS [00:25:24] [00:25:25] because it feeds our [00:25:26] ego. [00:25:27] It feeds your [00:25:28] ego [00:25:29] to s- to [00:25:30] say, "A [00:25:31] NFL wide [00:25:32] receiver is in my [00:25:33] DMs." That's [00:25:34] feeding your [00:25:35] ego, but it's [00:25:36] also not true. [00:25:37] You need to [00:25:38] step outside of [00:25:39] yourself and do some [00:25:40] due diligence and [00:25:41] be a little bit more [00:25:42] [00:25:43] discerning, ' [00:25:44] cause it [00:25:45] ain't that many [00:25:46] players in the [00:25:47] NFL.
[00:25:48] And then if you take [00:25:49] out the ones that's [00:25:50] already dating [00:25:51] someone-
Bruce Anthony: a lot of NFL [00:25:52] players[00:25:53]
Jay Aundrea: I mean, [00:25:54] [00:25:55] players[00:25:56] [00:25:57]
Bruce Anthony: He could be, [00:25:58] he could still be a wide [00:25:59] receiver [00:26:00] and he might not get on the [00:26:01] field, but he's still an [00:26:02] NFL wide [00:26:03] receiver[00:26:04]
Jay Aundrea: There, it [00:26:05] ain't like there's [00:26:06] millions of them,
Bruce Anthony: It's [00:26:07] 55 for [00:26:08] 32 teams. [00:26:09] That's over 150[00:26:10] [00:26:11]
Jay Aundrea: That's not [00:26:12] a lot
Bruce Anthony: [00:26:13] Actually, that number [00:26:14] is [00:26:15] really wrong. I [00:26:16] believe it's [00:26:17] 1,500.
Jay Aundrea: [00:26:18] definitely wrong. [00:26:19] But 1,500 [00:26:20] isn't-- Think about it, [00:26:21] okay? [00:26:22] 1,500. Cut out the [00:26:23] ones that's already dating. [00:26:24] Cut out the [00:26:25] ones that are married. [00:26:26] Then you got a [00:26:27] handful, you got a couple hundred [00:26:28] pe- Now [00:26:29] cut out the ones [00:26:30] that's way too damn [00:26:31] young for y'all. [00:26:32] The, the, [00:26:33] the [00:26:34] freshies out the box. [00:26:35] Them, them is, [00:26:36] they too young for [00:26:37] y'all, okay?[00:26:38]
Okay, [00:26:39] so you got a [00:26:40] limited pool [00:26:41] and you think [00:26:42] he in [00:26:43] your DMs? [00:26:44] [00:26:45] [00:26:46] Just [00:26:47] [00:26:48] the odds of [00:26:49] it is [00:26:50] just very [00:26:51] slim.
Bruce Anthony: Mm-hmm.[00:26:52]
Jay Aundrea: You [00:26:53] know? That's, that's [00:26:54] my thing. And [00:26:55] if somebody [00:26:56] asks you for [00:26:57] money, [00:26:58] even if they [00:26:59] promise to send you [00:27:00] back [00:27:01] more, [00:27:02] and even if they [00:27:03] actually do it the [00:27:04] first time, [00:27:05] if somebody's [00:27:06] asking you for [00:27:07] money, it's [00:27:08] a [00:27:09] scam[00:27:10]
Inside The Full 1.3 Million Dollar Fake 49ers Romance Scam Case 💸📱🚔
Bruce Anthony: His was a little bit [00:27:11] more sophisticated [00:27:12] than just straight up asking [00:27:13] them for money. [00:27:14] So he's [00:27:15] 35 years old. He's [00:27:16] got an alleged [00:27:17] accomplice, uh, [00:27:18] Taylor Chen, [00:27:19] who's 18, [00:27:20] who played his [00:27:21] financial advisor. [00:27:22] [00:27:23] Most, uh, [00:27:24] most [00:27:25] victims, [00:27:26] uh, were found on [00:27:27] dating apps, and he's [00:27:28] been doing this since [00:27:29] February [00:27:30] 2022. He posed as a [00:27:31] 49ers wide [00:27:32] receiver, worn number [00:27:33] seven.
Uh, [00:27:34] also a real estate [00:27:35] investor. He had [00:27:36] 26 [00:27:37] victims that have been [00:27:38] identified. The FB- [00:27:39] FBI believes that there are [00:27:40] more. [00:27:41] Like I said, [00:27:42] roughly $1.3 million [00:27:43] taken, [00:27:44] no victim ever [00:27:45] paid back. So he [00:27:46] wasn't giving that money back. [00:27:47] Victims [00:27:48] across Oregon, [00:27:49] Washington, [00:27:50] Idaho, and [00:27:51] California. He faked [00:27:52] bank balances [00:27:53] with phone apps.
[00:27:54] Once showed that [00:27:55] he had $30 [00:27:56] million. Chen [00:27:57] [00:27:58] joined three-way [00:27:59] FaceTime calls [00:28:00] showing [00:28:01] fake gains, [00:28:02] told victims to take [00:28:03] out personal [00:28:04] loans when [00:28:05] cash ran dry, [00:28:06] and blocked victims [00:28:07] once the money stopped [00:28:08] coming in. [00:28:09] Now, [00:28:10] [00:28:11] how he [00:28:12] faked the [00:28:13] algorithm, how [00:28:14] he faked [00:28:15] AI, [00:28:16] was [00:28:17] flooding [00:28:18] the internet [00:28:19] with these [00:28:20] videos that I [00:28:21] know y'all have [00:28:22] seen with him running on the beach with [00:28:23] his helmet on.[00:28:24]
No [00:28:25] NFL player [00:28:26] [00:28:27] wears their [00:28:28] helmet
Jay Aundrea: The game [00:28:29] day helmet [00:28:30] [00:28:31] That's supposed to be in your locker. Your game day helmet and you on the beach [00:28:32] and that-- Maybe 'cause I watch football, b- [00:28:33] like I'm watching, like I'm looking through all these videos that he's put, I'm looking at it
Bruce Anthony: [00:28:34] And [00:28:35] [00:28:36] yes[00:28:37] [00:28:38] [00:28:39] [00:28:40] [00:28:41] [00:28:42] [00:28:43] [00:28:44] [00:28:45] [00:28:46] [00:28:47]
Jay Aundrea: 'cause [00:28:48] I am [00:28:49] deeply [00:28:50] invested in this [00:28:51] kind of [00:28:52] scam because I don't [00:28:53] under- ever understand [00:28:54] how it actually [00:28:55] happens. [00:28:56] Like, [00:28:57] [00:28:58] looked [00:28:59] fake[00:29:00]
Ego, Trophies And Why Flashing Fake Wealth Is A Huge Red Flag 🚩💎🎭
Bruce Anthony: Yes. [00:29:01] [00:29:02] I mean, it, [00:29:03] it looks fake because [00:29:04] we knew it, right? [00:29:05] But like you said, [00:29:06] you brought up something [00:29:07] that I didn't even think [00:29:08] about is ego. [00:29:09] Side story, [00:29:10] I was once [00:29:11] dating a [00:29:12] fitness influencer. [00:29:13] She was bad. [00:29:14] She's a fitness [00:29:15] influencer, right? [00:29:16] [00:29:17] I was [00:29:18] excited for the fact that I [00:29:19] was dating [00:29:20] this badass [00:29:21] fitness [00:29:22] influencer.
Horrible [00:29:23] person. [00:29:24] One, one of the [00:29:25] worst people that I've ever [00:29:26] met in my entire [00:29:27] life, okay? [00:29:28] Well, to me. [00:29:29] Just very [00:29:30] self-centered, [00:29:31] [00:29:32] superficial, and [00:29:33] toxic. And, [00:29:34] but [00:29:35] I kicked it for [00:29:36] longer than I should [00:29:37] have [00:29:38] because I [00:29:39] liked that trophy on my [00:29:40] arm. [00:29:41] So it, it [00:29:42] stroked my ego. [00:29:43] They [00:29:44] want me, when [00:29:45] I know all these other [00:29:46] dudes is in their DM.
[00:29:47] Horrible person. This [00:29:48] person was actually [00:29:49] real. [00:29:50] But this [00:29:51] person to them [00:29:52] is [00:29:53] real because they get them on [00:29:54] FaceTime. They [00:29:55] showing-- He's showing the [00:29:56] bank accounts. [00:29:57] He's showing pictures [00:29:58] in front of a [00:29:59] McLaren and a [00:30:00] Lamborghini in the [00:30:01] video just [00:30:02] flaunting. He's [00:30:03] flaunting that life. He's [00:30:04] try-
Jay Aundrea: You [00:30:05] can rent [00:30:06] those.
Bruce Anthony: You [00:30:07] can. It costs [00:30:08] money, though.
Jay Aundrea: [00:30:09] It costs money, [00:30:10] money that he's getting [00:30:11] from them. He got[00:30:12]
Bruce Anthony: Yeah[00:30:13]
Jay Aundrea: He g- he [00:30:14] scams one [00:30:15] to get the money [00:30:16] to rent the [00:30:17] stuff so he can [00:30:18] scam other [00:30:19] people. First, [00:30:20] listen, [00:30:21] if [00:30:22] somebody is giving you [00:30:23] a bunch of [00:30:24] evidence [00:30:25] that they got [00:30:26] something, [00:30:27] just know they ain't got it. [00:30:28] [00:30:29] [00:30:30] Just know that they don't [00:30:31] actually have it. [00:30:32] Because if [00:30:33] you gotta, "Oh, [00:30:34] let me show you my, [00:30:35] um, bank [00:30:36] app, and I got, [00:30:37] I'll show you, uh, [00:30:38] these are my [00:30:39] gains and all the da-da-da, [00:30:40] my financial gains [00:30:41] and blah, blah, blah, blah," [00:30:42] that's letting me know [00:30:43] you ain't [00:30:44] got a dime. [00:30:45] Because why [00:30:46] are you working so [00:30:47] hard to prove [00:30:48] to me [00:30:49] that you [00:30:50] got money? [00:30:51] [00:30:52] [00:30:53] Either
Bruce Anthony: people will [00:30:54] flash. I mean, I [00:30:55] was-- I, [00:30:56] my favorite rap [00:30:57] group in the, in the [00:30:58] earl- in the late [00:30:59] '90s, early 2000s was [00:31:00] the Big Timers, and [00:31:01] all they did-- I had, [00:31:02] I wore [00:31:03] two giant [00:31:04] diamonds in my ears, [00:31:05] two [00:31:06] watches, and a [00:31:07] thick chain [00:31:08] [00:31:09] frontin' [00:31:10] like I had that type of [00:31:11] money. I [00:31:12] did not[00:31:13]
Jay Aundrea: their name was [00:31:14] literally Big [00:31:15] Timers. Like that, [00:31:16] that was the whole [00:31:17] persona [00:31:18] was [00:31:19] excess,
Bruce Anthony: [00:31:20] Mm-hmm
Jay Aundrea: right? [00:31:21] And showing that [00:31:22] you big time. [00:31:23] That's, that's diff- [00:31:24] this is d- [00:31:25] [00:31:26] If [00:31:27] somebody is [00:31:28] showing you all [00:31:29] these [00:31:30] receipts to [00:31:31] prove [00:31:32] that they got money, [00:31:33] it means they don't have it. [00:31:34] Because if they [00:31:35] actually had [00:31:36] money, you would see the [00:31:37] wealth on them. [00:31:38] [00:31:39] You would
Bruce Anthony: People with [00:31:40] money, you could just [00:31:41] tell that they got money. [00:31:42] Even if they [00:31:43] dressed real bummy, [00:31:44] they, they got the, they [00:31:45] got that I got [00:31:46] money air [00:31:47] about
Jay Aundrea: Their [00:31:48] eyes are all [00:31:49] clear, you [00:31:50] know? Like [00:31:51] they don't have-- [00:31:52] they ain't stressed, no [00:31:53] bags under their [00:31:54] eyes. They just kind [00:31:55] of whistle [00:31:56] at random [00:31:57] moments, like just [00:31:58] whistle while
Bruce Anthony: Skipping down the [00:31:59] street
Jay Aundrea: [00:32:00] skipping. Every [00:32:01] day looks [00:32:02] sunny. You know, you could [00:32:03] tell people with [00:32:04] money. They, they're [00:32:05] [00:32:06] attractive even though they're [00:32:07] really not, [00:32:08] you know?
Like [00:32:09] it's, you [00:32:10] could just tell. [00:32:11] They give off a [00:32:12] aura. The, [00:32:13] it's, it's, that's what the [00:32:14] young people say [00:32:15] now. Uh, we said [00:32:16] swag. It's now [00:32:17] aura. They [00:32:18] give off this, [00:32:19] they give off this [00:32:20] aura, and you just [00:32:21] know. [00:32:22] Um, so [00:32:23] when they're [00:32:24] showing you a bunch of [00:32:25] things to prove to you, [00:32:26] "No, I got money. I [00:32:27] just need your [00:32:28] money for ba, [00:32:29] ba, ba," you've already [00:32:30] lost me.
Because [00:32:31] if you got money, why you [00:32:32] need me to take out a [00:32:33] loan?
Bruce Anthony: [00:32:34] Yeah. [00:32:35] So he was, [00:32:36] they were both [00:32:37] arrested in [00:32:38] Idaho. [00:32:39] In Idaho. [00:32:40] Um[00:32:41]
Jay Aundrea: And we ain't [00:32:42] even there. [00:32:43] [00:32:44] You know what I'm saying? [00:32:45] Ain't even nobody [00:32:46] named D- [00:32:47] well, Black people. Like,[00:32:48]
Bruce Anthony: There's [00:32:49] Black people in, uh, there's [00:32:50] Black people in Idaho. [00:32:51] If you don't remember [00:32:52] the movie [00:32:53] Moving, it was all [00:32:54] about Richard Pryor and [00:32:55] his family [00:32:56] moving to Boise, [00:32:57] Idaho. So we at [00:32:58] least know
Jay Aundrea: [00:32:59] fictional[00:33:00]
Bruce Anthony: there's Black... [00:33:01] There's gotta be Black [00:33:02] people in Idaho. There, [00:33:03] there... It's an [00:33:04] entire state. [00:33:05] Um, but he was [00:33:06] arrested.[00:33:07]
Him and [00:33:08] Chan were arrested [00:33:09] meeting more [00:33:10] victims, so they [00:33:11] weren't done. [00:33:12] Um, he's [00:33:13] being held without [00:33:14] bond 'cause he's [00:33:15] supposedly a s- [00:33:16] uh, [00:33:17] serious flight [00:33:18] risk. Where [00:33:19] Chan was released, [00:33:20] uh, pending a [00:33:21] trial 'cause boy [00:33:22] only 18 years old. [00:33:23] That's the thing that'd be [00:33:24] killing me. I'm like, [00:33:25] you... [00:33:26] I'm 18. [00:33:27] Uh, he was [00:33:28] scamming me.
He [00:33:29] told me to play a [00:33:30] role. I thought it was an [00:33:31] acting gig. That-- [00:33:32] Look, if
Jay Aundrea: [00:33:33] Yeah
Bruce Anthony: Chan, I'd be [00:33:34] throwing him under [00:33:35] the[00:33:36]
Jay Aundrea: All the [00:33:37] way. I still got my whole [00:33:38] life ahead of me. You kidding [00:33:39] me?
Bruce Anthony: So you [00:33:40]
The AI Overview Trap And Buying Your Way To A Fake Blue Check 🤖✅😵
Bruce Anthony: tore him a new [00:33:41] one, but I, I gotta [00:33:42] just say [00:33:43] that [00:33:44] we tell people [00:33:45] to do the research all [00:33:46] the time.
Jay Aundrea: [00:33:47] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: And [00:33:48] a lot of people [00:33:49] aren't [00:33:50] technologically savvy to [00:33:51] [00:33:52] realize that when [00:33:53] they now [00:33:54] do [00:33:55] the Google [00:33:56] search in Google[00:33:57]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.[00:33:58] [00:33:59]
Bruce Anthony: Even if you [00:34:00] don't click on AI [00:34:01] mode, [00:34:02] there'll be an [00:34:03] AI [00:34:04] overview in the [00:34:05] regular Google [00:34:06] before you even get [00:34:07] to the sources. [00:34:08] So I don't think [00:34:09] people are [00:34:10] aware of that, [00:34:11] and, and they [00:34:12] also aren't [00:34:13] aware [00:34:14] that AI won't [00:34:15] give you all the right [00:34:16] information.
We've been [00:34:17] screaming at the top [00:34:18] of our lungs that [00:34:19] AI doesn't give you the [00:34:20] right [00:34:21] information. [00:34:22] But not [00:34:23] everybody, not [00:34:24] everybody is [00:34:25] technologically [00:34:26] savvy [00:34:27] as [00:34:28] we are because [00:34:29] we, we are-- [00:34:30] You're [00:34:31] definitely in that industry. [00:34:32] I'm somewhat. [00:34:33] I [00:34:34] use AI a [00:34:35] lot. I deal [00:34:36] with it a lot, [00:34:37] so I'm [00:34:38] well-versed in [00:34:39] and have been over the [00:34:40] last four years.
But a [00:34:41] lot of people, this is all [00:34:42] brand new [00:34:43] to them. And [00:34:44] so when they Google [00:34:45] something, [00:34:46] [00:34:47] they just [00:34:48] think, "Yeah, [00:34:49] okay, I found the [00:34:50] thing." And, and they're [00:34:51] also not researchers, [00:34:52] right? They're not [00:34:53] checking [00:34:54] sources. They're just like, [00:34:55] "Google told me this." [00:34:56] Like, [00:34:57] that's what people say [00:34:58] now. Like, "Look it up." [00:34:59] They don't say look it [00:35:00] up.
They say Google [00:35:01] it.
Jay Aundrea: Just Google it. [00:35:02] Yeah. Yeah. [00:35:03] It's definitely [00:35:04] become part of the [00:35:05] lexicon. [00:35:06] But again, [00:35:07] even when it [00:35:08] shows like the [00:35:09] AI answer, it'll [00:35:10] still [00:35:11] over on the [00:35:12] right show you the [00:35:13] sources. [00:35:14] And if those [00:35:15] sources don't look [00:35:16] legit [00:35:17] [00:35:18] [00:35:19] Keep [00:35:20] scrolling
Bruce Anthony: is legit [00:35:21] though? Most people don't [00:35:22] know what's legit and what's [00:35:23] not legit[00:35:24]
Jay Aundrea: Is the source [00:35:25] [00:35:26] nfl.com or is it [00:35:27] Instagram?[00:35:28] [00:35:29]
Bruce Anthony: But [00:35:30] if the, he's got an [00:35:31] Instagram where, [00:35:32] you know, he's got a [00:35:33] certain amount of [00:35:34] followers.
Jay Aundrea: [00:35:35] That's another [00:35:36] thing. [00:35:37] Yes, he's [00:35:38] got the blue check, [00:35:39] but if you [00:35:40] remember, [00:35:41] Meta changed [00:35:42] it where you can purchase [00:35:43] the
Bruce Anthony: You can purchase [00:35:44] the blue
Jay Aundrea: He's [00:35:45] got [00:35:46] 6,800 [00:35:47] followers[00:35:48]
Bruce Anthony: Oh, that was, [00:35:49] that was it?[00:35:50]
Jay Aundrea: That was [00:35:51] it. So [00:35:52] that already lets me [00:35:53] know, I don't know a [00:35:54] NFL player [00:35:55] out there. I [00:35:56] found the most [00:35:57] random [00:35:58] NFL player [00:35:59] I could find, and he [00:36:00] still had [00:36:01] 30K
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, [00:36:02] because you gonna think [00:36:03] that [00:36:04] if it's your team, [00:36:05] if you love the [00:36:06] Philadelphia Eagles, [00:36:07] if you find a [00:36:08] player on there that you [00:36:09] like, you might start [00:36:10] following him. And he [00:36:11] might be obscure. [00:36:12] He might be somebody [00:36:13] that's on the kickoff [00:36:14] team, [00:36:15] right? Uh, but you'd be [00:36:16] like, "Oh, okay. Well, [00:36:17] no, I kinda like [00:36:18] him. You know, he, he [00:36:19] works hard.
Let me follow [00:36:20] on Instagram." So [00:36:21] just from the fans [00:36:22] alone, [00:36:23] you should hit [00:36:24] 10 to 20K[00:36:25]
Jay Aundrea: You should [00:36:26] also have [00:36:27] [00:36:28] networks [00:36:29] following [00:36:30] you, like [00:36:31] ESPN might be following [00:36:32] you. [00:36:33] Uh, you [00:36:34] know, like any of [00:36:35] those shows, they might be [00:36:36] following you. Your [00:36:37] team's [00:36:38] page [00:36:39] typically follows [00:36:40] you, [00:36:41] [00:36:42] right? [00:36:43] Like, your [00:36:44] [00:36:45] teammates
Bruce Anthony: [00:36:46] But most pe-
Jay Aundrea: will [00:36:47] follow you. [00:36:48] So
Bruce Anthony: ego. [00:36:49] It's the ego. [00:36:50] Like they're not looking [00:36:51] for these things[00:36:52]
Jay Aundrea: [00:36:53] followers, I know [00:36:54] that this is not a [00:36:55] person who has been [00:36:56] playing in the [00:36:57] NFL[00:36:58]
Bruce Anthony: All right. [00:36:59] I hear what you're [00:37:00] saying, and, and I'm [00:37:01] not saying that what you're [00:37:02] saying doesn't have [00:37:03] validity. It [00:37:04] does. But, [00:37:05] but let [00:37:06] me just [00:37:07] give a [00:37:08] different perspective.[00:37:09]
Jay Aundrea: Okay
Bruce Anthony: heard [00:37:10]
Pig Butchering Explained: The Four Step Romance Scam Playbook 🐷💔📉
Bruce Anthony: of [00:37:11] pig [00:37:12] butchering[00:37:13]
Jay Aundrea: Pig [00:37:14] butchering. [00:37:15] No. [00:37:16] As a[00:37:17]
Bruce Anthony: uh, let me [00:37:18] break it down for you. [00:37:19] It is [00:37:20] a [00:37:21] translation of a [00:37:22] Chinese [00:37:23] phrase, [00:37:24] shuzheng pan, [00:37:25] and it's the image is [00:37:26] deliberately [00:37:27] ugly. You [00:37:28] fatten a pig up [00:37:29] so you can [00:37:30] slaughter it, [00:37:31] right?
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.[00:37:32]
Bruce Anthony: How does this [00:37:33] relate to [00:37:34] what my man Mr. [00:37:35] Love was doing? So [00:37:36] step one is [00:37:37] not money, [00:37:38] it's the [00:37:39] relationship. [00:37:40] The scammer [00:37:41] spends weeks or [00:37:42] months being the [00:37:43] perfect partner, [00:37:44] building a [00:37:45] real emotional [00:37:46] trust.
[00:37:47] This is the [00:37:48] fattening. [00:37:49] So [00:37:50] [00:37:51] yes, you're [00:37:52] building up the ego. [00:37:53] Th- the person [00:37:54] has the ego, but they're building [00:37:55] up the ego by [00:37:56] just their interaction. "Oh, [00:37:57] you're beautiful. I think about [00:37:58] you all the time. I just got out [00:37:59] of practice. [00:38:00] You know what I'm saying? The [00:38:01] first thing I wanted to [00:38:02] do was text you. How you doing [00:38:03] today?"
[00:38:04] "How you doing, baby? [00:38:05] I'm gonna soak in the tub [00:38:06] a little bit [00:38:07] later 'cause I'm sore from [00:38:08] prac-" Like, this is [00:38:09] the fattening, [00:38:10] right?
Jay Aundrea: [00:38:11] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: Step [00:38:12] two is the [00:38:13] pivot. [00:38:14] Once [00:38:15] they get the [00:38:16] trust, they [00:38:17] introduce an [00:38:18] investment, usually [00:38:19] crypto [00:38:20] or something [00:38:21] else that they're [00:38:22] supposedly getting [00:38:23] rich on, and that's [00:38:24] what he did. He was [00:38:25] like, "Look," he was [00:38:26] driving around saying, [00:38:27] "I got these [00:38:28] properties, I got these [00:38:29] investments."
He got his [00:38:30] boy that's his [00:38:31] financial [00:38:32] advisor on three-way [00:38:33] talking about these [00:38:34] gains that you're getting, [00:38:35] and everybody [00:38:36] want to get rich quick. [00:38:37] Everybody [00:38:38] thinks that they could [00:38:39] throw an investment [00:38:40] and then flip it three [00:38:41] times in [00:38:42] two hours. [00:38:43] That's what everybody's [00:38:44] thinking. That does not [00:38:45] exist. That's not [00:38:46] how money works[00:38:47]
Jay Aundrea: It does [00:38:48] if you were talking [00:38:49] about cocaine, [00:38:50] but we're not talking [00:38:51] about
Bruce Anthony: don't even [00:38:52] work that way with [00:38:53] cocaine. It, it [00:38:54] don't. Not that [00:38:55] quick. So [00:38:56] it don't, [00:38:57] it don't, okay? Not [00:38:58] that I know. [00:38:59] Not that I [00:39:00] know.
Jay Aundrea: Right.[00:39:01]
Bruce Anthony: But [00:39:02] I know. Anyway,[00:39:03]
Jay Aundrea: Sure,
Bruce Anthony: [00:39:04] step three is the [00:39:05] hook. [00:39:06] They show you the fake [00:39:07] gains [00:39:08] on a fake [00:39:09] platform. [00:39:10] So [00:39:11] they put in a [00:39:12] little, then they [00:39:13] put in a lot. [00:39:14] And, and [00:39:15] then, and my man is [00:39:16] telling them once again, they're [00:39:17] showing them these fake [00:39:18] bank statements. [00:39:19] They're showing them these [00:39:20] gains, all [00:39:21] this type of stuff. [00:39:22] This [00:39:23] is pig [00:39:24] butchering. Then [00:39:25] there's step four, [00:39:26] and this is the [00:39:27] actual [00:39:28] slaughter.
The moment [00:39:29] you are tapped [00:39:30] out and they start [00:39:31] asking the question, [00:39:32] the money, the [00:39:33] person both [00:39:34] begin to vanish, [00:39:35] right? So [00:39:36] then they got your [00:39:37] money,
Jay Aundrea: [00:39:38] Yep
Bruce Anthony: and then you're like, [00:39:39] "Wait a minute, where are my [00:39:40] gains coming?" [00:39:41] And then [00:39:42] they ghost it. They [00:39:43] blocked you. [00:39:44] And that's what [00:39:45] happened in this [00:39:46] situation. [00:39:47] Two people [00:39:48] complained.
They was [00:39:49]
The Romance Scam Boom And How To Actually Protect Your Pockets 📈🚨💵
Bruce Anthony: like, "Look, he done got [00:39:50] me for this bread." [00:39:51] That's how the indictments [00:39:52] came down. That's [00:39:53] how he got [00:39:54] arrested. [00:39:55] So look, [00:39:56] there's a whole [00:39:57] industry, and it's [00:39:58] funny because [00:39:59] one of the areas is [00:40:00] California and South [00:40:01] Carolina. I mean, [00:40:02] South Fr- N- [00:40:03] not South Carolina, [00:40:04] San Francisco [00:40:05] and [00:40:06] California. There's a [00:40:07] whole [00:40:08] market of [00:40:09] romance [00:40:10] scams, and that [00:40:11] they're saying [00:40:12] that [00:40:13] $6.3 [00:40:14] million is [00:40:15] [00:40:16] now the new [00:40:17] number, [00:40:18] right?
It [00:40:19] used to be [00:40:20] [00:40:21] [00:40:22] $734,000 that people [00:40:23] would get scammed in in [00:40:24] maybe a year. [00:40:25] It's jumped up [00:40:26] 900% over the [00:40:27] last couple of [00:40:28] years. [00:40:29] Um, some of the [00:40:30] victims have jumped [00:40:31] up [00:40:32] 80%. There's been an account of [00:40:33] nearly 80% of [00:40:34] all romance [00:40:35] scam theft [00:40:36] in South [00:40:37] Carolina. And that's-- I [00:40:38] keep saying South Carolina. In [00:40:39] San Francisco.[00:40:40]
In San [00:40:41] Francisco and the [00:40:42] surrounding area, Santa [00:40:43] Clara, Santa [00:40:44] Mona, uh, S- [00:40:45] San M- [00:40:46] San Mateo [00:40:47] and Almedina, [00:40:48] right? [00:40:49] 80% [00:40:50] [00:40:51] rise [00:40:52] in romance [00:40:53] scam theft [00:40:54] in the [00:40:55] region in [00:40:56] just [00:40:57] 2025. So the [00:40:58] point of [00:40:59] this is [00:41:00] this, [00:41:01] you know, we making [00:41:02] fun of [00:41:03] Dijon Mustard [00:41:04] love.
Jay Aundrea: [00:41:05] Yeah
Bruce Anthony: But the [00:41:06] fact of the matter is [00:41:07] [00:41:08] [00:41:09] he was in that [00:41:10] area and [00:41:11] saw it, [00:41:12] and then was like, [00:41:13] "I can do [00:41:14] this."
Jay Aundrea: I can do this. [00:41:15] I can [00:41:16] go on [00:41:17] NFL Fan [00:41:18] Shop and get [00:41:19] a replica [00:41:20] helmet. [00:41:21] I [00:41:22] can [00:41:23] go and use [00:41:24] other people's money [00:41:25] to rent [00:41:26] luxury cars [00:41:27] and then pose in front [00:41:28] of them for [00:41:29] photos, and then hurry [00:41:30] up and take them back [00:41:31] within the hour because you [00:41:32] pay by the hour. [00:41:33] [00:41:34] Um, can [00:41:35] do all of these [00:41:36] things and scam [00:41:37] people, but a [00:41:38] scam is [00:41:39] a two-way street.[00:41:40]
Bruce Anthony: Yeah. I, [00:41:41] I
Jay Aundrea: gotta [00:41:42] have a mark [00:41:43] [00:41:44] that [00:41:45] will [00:41:46] buy into it, [00:41:47] [00:41:48] and that we [00:41:49] know of, there have [00:41:50] been at least [00:41:51] 26, and y'all just [00:41:52] gotta be-- [00:41:53] Or maybe it's just [00:41:54] because I'm a naturally [00:41:55] suspicious person. [00:41:56] Like [00:41:57] e- you [00:41:58] remember during [00:41:59] COVID, like [00:42:00] there were all [00:42:01] these like [00:42:02] scams [00:42:03] going around.[00:42:04]
Bruce Anthony: you're in scam [00:42:05] capital
Jay Aundrea: I'm [00:42:06] in the scam capital [00:42:07] of the world, [00:42:08] truly, [00:42:09] in Atlanta, [00:42:10] Georgia, but like [00:42:11] there were all these [00:42:12] like money [00:42:13] scams, Ponzi [00:42:14] schemes and stuff going [00:42:15] around.
I ain't never put [00:42:16] a dime in nothing. [00:42:17] And I have [00:42:18] friends [00:42:19] telling me, [00:42:20] "No, no, you make your [00:42:21] money back," and blah, blah, [00:42:22] blah. I said, "Okay, [00:42:23] [00:42:24] friend. Okay. [00:42:25] Not if you're the last [00:42:26] person on the [00:42:27] list."
Bruce Anthony: Skepticism [00:42:28] is one thing. You're a [00:42:29] cynic. Uh, [00:42:30] that's a completely different thing
Jay Aundrea: trust, I [00:42:31] don't trust, [00:42:32] I don't trust, [00:42:33] um, nah, I don't trust [00:42:34] nobody. No, [00:42:35] especially if you [00:42:36] asking me for my... I [00:42:37] don't-- And also, I [00:42:38] don't even think [00:42:39] crypto, Bitcoin, [00:42:40] all that stuff, it's not [00:42:41] even real. First of [00:42:42] all, money, money [00:42:43] is not real,[00:42:44]
Bruce Anthony: uh, money [00:42:45] is... Money, [00:42:46] I don't even know where you're [00:42:47] going with this now. This [00:42:48] has gone off the rails. [00:42:49] Where, money [00:42:50] isn't real?
Jay Aundrea: [00:42:51] but no, it's-- [00:42:52] we made it up. We [00:42:53] made up [00:42:54] currency.
Bruce Anthony: Okay. [00:42:55] Yes, but it's [00:42:56] real though.
Jay Aundrea: [00:42:57] things and we made it [00:42:58] up. And [00:42:59] so [00:43:00] all of this is made [00:43:01] up. I don't [00:43:02] see how people [00:43:03] making money [00:43:04] through [00:43:05] digital money... [00:43:06] I don't know what y'all are [00:43:07] talking about, and it all
Bruce Anthony: [00:43:08] much do you know about [00:43:09] crypto? [00:43:10] Uh, uh, crypto,[00:43:11]
Jay Aundrea: nothing[00:43:12]
Bruce Anthony: crypto, one of [00:43:13] my favorite [00:43:14] podcast [00:43:15] hosts, Bomani Jones, calls it [00:43:16] funny money, [00:43:17] crypto money, and I've [00:43:18] never gotten involved with [00:43:19] it. And every time people are [00:43:20] like, "Man, you need to get into this [00:43:21] crypto," I'm like, [00:43:22] "Seem like [00:43:23] gambling to me." [00:43:24] 'Cause the stock [00:43:25] market is gambling to me.
[00:43:26] They're like, "No, it's not [00:43:27] gambling." I'm like, "Yes, [00:43:28] it, it... If you [00:43:29] play..."
Jay Aundrea: just [00:43:30] gambling with analytics
Bruce Anthony: [00:43:31] Right. W- [00:43:32] w- uh, so is gambling. [00:43:33] Gambling is gambling [00:43:34] with analytics. It's all [00:43:35] analytics[00:43:36]
Jay Aundrea: I mean, you can't go to the [00:43:37] casino with your [00:43:38] laptop[00:43:39]
Bruce Anthony: [00:43:40] No, but you, but [00:43:41] you know odds. [00:43:42] You could card [00:43:43] count. Yeah, you, I mean, [00:43:44] you could do that type [00:43:45] stuff.
Jay Aundrea: but [00:43:46] the stock market [00:43:47] is just, it's just [00:43:48] gambling with better [00:43:49] analytics
Bruce Anthony: Yeah. [00:43:50] Yeah, that's all it [00:43:51] is. But we done gone [00:43:52] off on a tangent. Ladies and [00:43:53] gentlemen, look, [00:43:54] because [00:43:55] it's not just [00:43:56] women getting scammed by [00:43:57] men and men getting [00:43:58] scammed by women and [00:43:59] men getting scammed by [00:44:00] men and women getting [00:44:01] scammed by women and [00:44:02] people getting scammed by [00:44:03] people. [00:44:04] It's also old [00:44:05] people are constantly getting [00:44:06] scammed with all...[00:44:07]
Like, uh, look, [00:44:08] it was a whole [00:44:09] movie based off of The [00:44:10] Beekeeper that me and my [00:44:11] sisters just absolutely [00:44:12] love.
Jay Aundrea: Jason [00:44:13] Statham
Bruce Anthony: And Re- [00:44:14] [00:44:15] Phylicia Rashad. And let [00:44:16] me tell you something, [00:44:17] [00:44:18] when Phylicia [00:44:19] Rashad, spoiler [00:44:20] alert, committed [00:44:21] suicide 'cause she [00:44:22] had got scammed out of [00:44:23] her money, [00:44:24] [00:44:25] we wanted The [00:44:26] Beekeeper to get
Jay Aundrea: yeah, [00:44:27] I just knew the [00:44:28] Beekeeper was gonna [00:44:29] equalize.
Bruce Anthony: was [00:44:30] gonna equalize.
[00:44:31] And th- [00:44:32] scams are happening all over the [00:44:33] place. So [00:44:34] what are some things that you [00:44:35] could do to make [00:44:36] sure, or [00:44:37] at least attempt to make [00:44:38] sure that you gonna get [00:44:39] scammed? All right. [00:44:40] Never send [00:44:41] money to someone [00:44:42] you have only [00:44:43] met online[00:44:44]
Jay Aundrea: [00:44:45] Yeah[00:44:46]
Bruce Anthony: That's, that's a [00:44:47] key one.[00:44:48]
Jay Aundrea: Step one
Bruce Anthony: [00:44:49] That's a key one. [00:44:50] Reverse [00:44:51] image search the [00:44:52] profile [00:44:53] photo before [00:44:54] you trust it.[00:44:55]
I'm [00:44:56] king on reverse [00:44:57] imo- uh, uh, [00:44:58] image search. During the [00:44:59] pandemic, I was on all [00:45:00] these dating apps. [00:45:01] I was like, [00:45:02] "This [00:45:03] profile seem like [00:45:04] it's fake.
Jay Aundrea: [00:45:05] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: Let me [00:45:06] go ahead and reverse image [00:45:07] search." Sure [00:45:08] enough, I'd be seeing it [00:45:09] in different names all over [00:45:10] the place. I was like, [00:45:11] "You ain't gonna catfish [00:45:12] me. I done seen that show [00:45:13] too many [00:45:14] times."
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, I done [00:45:15] seen every [00:45:16] season. You ain't [00:45:17] gonna get me. [00:45:18] [00:45:19] You
Bruce Anthony: it [00:45:20] tripped me out when a [00:45:21] catfish don't be a [00:45:22] catfish, and this happened a [00:45:23] couple times [00:45:24] on that episode [00:45:25] on the
Jay Aundrea: very [00:45:26] strange, but [00:45:27] yeah. [00:45:28] But like, no, you, [00:45:29] you're not gonna get [00:45:30] me
Bruce Anthony: yeah, and here's a [00:45:31] final one, and this [00:45:32] backs up what [00:45:33] you've been saying [00:45:34] this entire segment. [00:45:35] [00:45:36] Treat an AI [00:45:37] answer as a [00:45:38] starting point. [00:45:39] [00:45:40] Click [00:45:41] through [00:45:42] to get to the [00:45:43] real sources.[00:45:44]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:45:45] Ladies and gentlemen, I [00:45:46] cannot stress it enough. [00:45:47] Do research,[00:45:48]
Jay Aundrea: [00:45:49] Yes
Bruce Anthony: [00:45:50] please. Please [00:45:51] do some [00:45:52] research
Jay Aundrea: Please [00:45:53] care more about your [00:45:54] pockets than y'all [00:45:55] do.
Bruce Anthony: Mm.[00:45:56]
Jay Aundrea: S- stop clicking [00:45:57] them links. [00:45:58] Stop, [00:45:59] stop-- [00:46:00] Look, [00:46:01] somebody in your [00:46:02] DMs and that it [00:46:03] seems like it's your friend, [00:46:04] it's not. Just [00:46:05] text your friend [00:46:06] and see if it's [00:46:07] actually them. [00:46:08] Like, that's [00:46:09] happened, and [00:46:10] we, we actually [00:46:11] played with that scammer for [00:46:12] a little bit.
Bruce Anthony: We [00:46:13] did, yeah.
Jay Aundrea: was [00:46:14] fun. [00:46:15] But like, [00:46:16] come on y'all, y'all [00:46:17] got to be a little bit more [00:46:18] discerning. I'm not saying [00:46:19] you gotta be like me and [00:46:20] be a complete [00:46:21] cynic. [00:46:22] That, I, I'm not [00:46:23] saying that.
Bruce Anthony: But be [00:46:24] skeptical.
Jay Aundrea: [00:46:25] be skeptical at [00:46:26] [00:46:27] [00:46:28] least.
Bruce Anthony: [00:46:29] A [00:46:30] cynic believes [00:46:31] everything is [00:46:32] always a lie. [00:46:33] A skeptical [00:46:34] asks the question, [00:46:35] "Is this a [00:46:36] lie?"
Jay Aundrea: [00:46:37] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: then follows [00:46:38] through. That's the [00:46:39] difference, so please, [00:46:40] at least be a [00:46:41] skeptic in life[00:46:42]
Jay Aundrea: [00:46:43] Yeah
Bruce Anthony: [00:46:44] [00:46:45] [00:46:46] [00:46:47] [00:46:48] [00:46:49] [00:46:50] [00:46:51] What if you were [00:46:52] so confident in [00:46:53] your ability to [00:46:54] commit fraud that [00:46:55] you started selling a [00:46:56] class on [00:46:57] how to do it? [00:46:58] Samari [00:46:59] Brooks is a [00:47:00] 34-year-old man from [00:47:01] Stone Mountain, Georgia. [00:47:02] He also rapped [00:47:03] under the name [00:47:04] Junie [00:47:05] Notts, and on [00:47:06] August [00:47:07] 27th, [00:47:08] [00:47:09] 2026, he was sentenced to [00:47:10] six years in federal [00:47:11] prison [00:47:12] for bank r- [00:47:13] fraud and [00:47:14] agitated [00:47:15] identity theft.[00:47:16]
Jay Aundrea: Not [00:47:17] agitated?
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, [00:47:18] aggravated [00:47:19] identity theft. Excuse [00:47:20] [00:47:21] me.
Jay Aundrea: [00:47:22] You know what? It was [00:47:23] agitated too.[00:47:24]
Bruce Anthony: Look, [00:47:25] I'm [00:47:26] agitated to all these [00:47:27] scammers. But [00:47:28] check it out, that's not [00:47:29] even the crazy part. [00:47:30] Prosecutors [00:47:31] say Brooks was [00:47:32] stealing checks out of the mail, [00:47:33] altering them, and [00:47:34] then trying to run them through [00:47:35] other people's banks, [00:47:36] bank accounts. [00:47:37] That's just one layer of [00:47:38] the story. Here's the [00:47:39] second layer. [00:47:40] He allegedly turned the [00:47:41] whole thing into [00:47:42] a business.
He was [00:47:43] selling online [00:47:44] tutorials teaching [00:47:45] other people [00:47:46] how to commit [00:47:47] financial fraud. [00:47:48] So basically, [00:47:49] like, I'm a [00:47:50] criminal, and I'm gonna show [00:47:51] you how to be a criminal [00:47:52]
The Rapper Who Sold Tutorials For Fraud That Never Once Worked 🎤📘🤦
Bruce Anthony: too.
Jay Aundrea: Yeah[00:47:53]
Bruce Anthony: [00:47:54] Except there's just [00:47:55] one [00:47:56] problem. His [00:47:57] scams [00:47:58] apparently didn't work. [00:47:59] Prosecutors say he [00:48:00] never [00:48:01] successfully passed the [00:48:02] checks. Law [00:48:03] enforcement found a bunch of [00:48:04] them still sitting [00:48:05] inside of his house, [00:48:06] and there's no evidence [00:48:07] that any [00:48:08] victims actually [00:48:09] lost money.
[00:48:10] So, uh, [00:48:11] let me make [00:48:12] it, paint a clear [00:48:13] picture. [00:48:14] He [00:48:15] allegedly [00:48:16] tried to commit fraud, [00:48:17] [00:48:18] couldn't get the [00:48:19] fraud to work, [00:48:20] and then started selling [00:48:21] tutorials teaching [00:48:22] people how to do [00:48:23] the fraud. [00:48:24] That's not a
Jay Aundrea: the [00:48:25] real scam.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, [00:48:26]
Jay Aundrea: real scam
Bruce Anthony: [00:48:27] that's not a [00:48:28] mastermind. That's a [00:48:29] failed criminal [00:48:30] entrepreneur. [00:48:31] And prosecutors [00:48:32] basically said his [00:48:33] boldness was [00:48:34] only matched by his ineptitude. [00:48:35] [00:48:36] [00:48:37] [00:48:38] [00:48:39] [00:48:40] So [00:48:41] Brooks pled [00:48:42] guilty, so unlike some of the [00:48:43] other stories
Jay Aundrea: got no [00:48:44] choice. They found [00:48:45] all the checks.
Bruce Anthony: they [00:48:46] found all the checks. [00:48:47] This isn't an [00:48:48] allegation. Uh, [00:48:49] he got six years, [00:48:50] like I said earlier, in [00:48:51] federal prison, and [00:48:52] apparently, the only [00:48:53] thing he successfully [00:48:54] passed [00:48:55] was getting caught. [00:48:56] So [00:48:57] another scammer [00:48:58] that [00:48:59] wasn't [00:49:00] successful, [00:49:01] but he was [00:49:02] selling stuff.
[00:49:03] Uh, and this ain't [00:49:04] far from [00:49:05] you.
Jay Aundrea: No, [00:49:06]
Atlanta, Scam Capital: Fake Pay Stubs And One In Three People 🍑📄😳
Jay Aundrea: it's not. [00:49:07] Well, Stone Mountain ain't [00:49:08] close. If [00:49:09] anybody knows, uh, [00:49:10] Atlanta, [00:49:11] Stone Mountain ain't close, but [00:49:12] it's close [00:49:13] enough that [00:49:14] I n- [00:49:15] [00:49:16] listen, [00:49:17] Atlanta is [00:49:18] the, is the scamming [00:49:19] capital of the world. [00:49:20] I believe that. [00:49:21] I believe [00:49:22] one in three [00:49:23] people, this is a [00:49:24] statistic I completely [00:49:25] made up right now on the [00:49:26] spot, but one [00:49:27] in three people in [00:49:28] this, in this city is [00:49:29] scamming.
[00:49:30] Uh, and [00:49:31] [00:49:32] that is what I [00:49:33] 100% [00:49:34] feel, because [00:49:35] sometimes I see [00:49:36] people in these [00:49:37] luxury high li- [00:49:38] high-rises and they [00:49:39] ain't been to work, [00:49:40] uh, I ain't seen [00:49:41] them go to work, uh, [00:49:42] not one day, [00:49:43] and I'm just wondering[00:49:44]
Bruce Anthony: How[00:49:45]
Jay Aundrea: how? [00:49:46] Because you gotta [00:49:47] submit, [00:49:48] uh, uh, [00:49:49] uh, um, what [00:49:50] is it? Like your [00:49:51] income.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah. [00:49:52] Sometimes, sometimes [00:49:53] they just go by your [00:49:54] credit score[00:49:55]
Jay Aundrea: In Atlanta, you gotta [00:49:56] submit your income [00:49:57] [00:49:58] to get an [00:49:59] apartment.
And [00:50:00] so there are people [00:50:01] that got [00:50:02] scams to get you [00:50:03] fake pay [00:50:04] stubs.
Bruce Anthony: Yeah. Well, that's [00:50:05] not really even [00:50:06] difficult
Jay Aundrea: [00:50:07] no, it's not. It's [00:50:08] literally just, you [00:50:09] know, [00:50:10] Microsoft Word[00:50:11]
Bruce Anthony: Uh, a little bit [00:50:12] more, little bit [00:50:13] more intricate than [00:50:14] Microsoft Word. But with AI, [00:50:15] you could [00:50:16] create a, you could [00:50:17] create a fake pay [00:50:18] stub [00:50:19] very easily. [00:50:20] The only thing is, [00:50:21] is like [00:50:22] you gotta [00:50:23] have like a, a real [00:50:24] company. The company [00:50:25] has to at [00:50:26] least [00:50:27] exist, [00:50:28] right? Before you [00:50:29] can, uh, could do [00:50:30] a pay stub. And [00:50:31] so I didn't know that was a [00:50:32] scam, uh, [00:50:33] that, uh, people [00:50:34] were, were doing.
Hmm,[00:50:35]
Selling The Dream: The Scam Was Always The Book Itself All Along 📚💡💰
Jay Aundrea: This is a lot of [00:50:36] scams down [00:50:37] here, so this [00:50:38] does not surprise [00:50:39] me. What does [00:50:40] surprise me is that [00:50:41] you're [00:50:42] trying [00:50:43] to make [00:50:44] money [00:50:45] telling people how [00:50:46] to do scams that [00:50:47] you have never done [00:50:48] successfully. And what it [00:50:49] reminds me of [00:50:50] is remember when we were [00:50:51] young and [00:50:52] there would be them [00:50:53] infomercials [00:50:54] of people, of [00:50:55] these guys living [00:50:56] this luxurious [00:50:57] life, and you can [00:50:58] too if you buy my [00:50:59] book and it's a Ponzi [00:51:00] scheme or something like [00:51:01] that.
It's the [00:51:02] same [00:51:03] thing. [00:51:04] You wanna be [00:51:05] rich, get rich [00:51:06] like me and do [00:51:07] this, and this-- [00:51:08] I'm getting rich off [00:51:09] of selling you the [00:51:10] books, chump, [00:51:11] because [00:51:12] you [00:51:13] [00:51:14] [00:51:15] 'Cause that's the [00:51:16] ultimate scam. [00:51:17] The scam [00:51:18] was the book.
Bruce Anthony: [00:51:19] Yes.[00:51:20]
Jay Aundrea: Yes[00:51:21]
Bruce Anthony: Uh, [00:51:22] he has-- My [00:51:23] thing is [00:51:24] it's been [00:51:25] documented that he's been doing [00:51:26] this from [00:51:27] January [00:51:28] [00:51:29] 2022. So as [00:51:30] soon as we got out the [00:51:31] pandemic, he, he [00:51:32] probably got himself a [00:51:33] PPP
Jay Aundrea: was prime [00:51:34] time. Like [00:51:35] pandemic [00:51:36] really [00:51:37] scamming in [00:51:38] Atlanta [00:51:39] exploded during the [00:51:40] pandemic [00:51:41] and them PPP [00:51:42] loans, boy, [00:51:43] [00:51:44] it exploded. [00:51:45] And so [00:51:46] now it's [00:51:47] really a art [00:51:48] like, [00:51:49] and, [00:51:50] uh, I've [00:51:51] seen some people [00:51:52] do it quite [00:51:53] well, [00:51:54] honestly, and [00:51:55] like, [00:51:56] especially like [00:51:57] scamming the [00:51:58] government, [00:51:59] and I seen [00:52:00] people get [00:52:01] tens of [00:52:02] thousands back from [00:52:03] taxes and [00:52:04] like different thing.
I'm [00:52:05] like, "Dang, how y'all [00:52:06] do that?" Oh, I got [00:52:07] a person. [00:52:08] Well, hook, hook [00:52:09] me up. I [00:52:10] don't want it.
Bruce Anthony: [00:52:11] no. I d- yeah, [00:52:12] don't do it. [00:52:13] That was the first
Jay Aundrea: [00:52:14] audit. [00:52:15] Nope, I-- [00:52:16] your girl, your [00:52:17] girl will do-- [00:52:18] I've done my own [00:52:19] taxes [00:52:20] my whole life, and I'm [00:52:21] gonna keep on doing my own[00:52:22]
Bruce Anthony: Well, [00:52:23] I think now
Jay Aundrea: not [00:52:24] gon'-
Bruce Anthony: [00:52:25] I, I would [00:52:26] say this. We asked [00:52:27] the question at the [00:52:28] top, [00:52:29] everybody is scamming, [00:52:30] should we? No. [00:52:31] No. [00:52:32] I
Jay Aundrea: 'cause I'm [00:52:33] not, I'm not going to [00:52:34] federal prison.[00:52:35]
Bruce Anthony: So but my [00:52:36]
Stolen Checks, Fake Accounts And 6.5 Million That Never Cleared 🏦💵❌
Bruce Anthony: man did [00:52:37] this from January [00:52:38] 2022 [00:52:39] through November [00:52:40] 2025, [00:52:41] right? So he would take the [00:52:42] stolen checks from the [00:52:43] mail, then he [00:52:44] used social media to [00:52:45] recruit people with [00:52:46] existing bank accounts to [00:52:47] act as [00:52:48] deposit accounts, and [00:52:49] he would alter the [00:52:50] stolen checks to make [00:52:51] these, [00:52:52] uh, [00:52:53] to, [00:52:54] with the account holders, [00:52:55] right?
[00:52:56] Um, [00:52:57] and then [00:52:58] he would go and [00:52:59] deposit them throughout [00:53:00] different ATMs [00:53:01] in the me- in the [00:53:02] Atlanta metro [00:53:03] area. [00:53:04] And he [00:53:05] had a, [00:53:06] a, a [00:53:07] [00:53:08] calling card [00:53:09] basically because he [00:53:10] wore a certain [00:53:11] mask,[00:53:12]
Jay Aundrea: Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:53:13] and on that mask [00:53:14] it read, "No [00:53:15] free sauce," [00:53:16] why he was making these [00:53:17] deposits. [00:53:18] Now the combined [00:53:19] face value for [00:53:20] all the stolen checks was [00:53:21] [00:53:22] $6.5 million, [00:53:23] right?
[00:53:24] So but I [00:53:25] said something at the top, [00:53:26] [00:53:27] that it didn't [00:53:28] actually work.
Jay Aundrea: didn't [00:53:29] work.
Bruce Anthony: It didn't [00:53:30] work. So [00:53:31] he would [00:53:32] deposit these checks, [00:53:33] but he wasn't [00:53:34] withdrawing no money [00:53:35] out because [00:53:36] these checks weren't [00:53:37] clearing.
Jay Aundrea: [00:53:38] Yeah. Yeah[00:53:39]
Bruce Anthony: doing fraud [00:53:40] for three years, [00:53:41] but not [00:53:42] really doing fraud[00:53:43]
Jay Aundrea: Not really [00:53:44] doing fraud. And it, and it [00:53:45] honestly is like, [00:53:46] okay, once you tried it the [00:53:47] first time... 'Cause [00:53:48] here's the thing, you [00:53:49] can't just [00:53:50] deposit a check [00:53:51] and it just, [00:53:52] the money appear. [00:53:53] The bank gotta [00:53:54] verify it
Bruce Anthony: [00:53:55] Yes.[00:53:56]
Jay Aundrea: [00:53:57] So you can't [00:53:58] just change the [00:53:59] payee [00:54:00] and think, " [00:54:01] Oh, this is, [00:54:02] this, this is gonna [00:54:03] work." It's not gonna [00:54:04] work.
And [00:54:05] it didn't work [00:54:06] for [00:54:07] three years.[00:54:08] [00:54:09] [00:54:10]
Bruce Anthony: But [00:54:11] I bet you he made the [00:54:12] money off the [00:54:13] tutorials
Jay Aundrea: I [00:54:14] bet you he [00:54:15] definitely, [00:54:16] definitely, [00:54:17] definitely did [00:54:18] because the [00:54:19] fact that [00:54:20] I could [00:54:21] ask [00:54:22] someone here [00:54:23] in Atlanta, "Do y'all [00:54:24] know what Sauce [00:54:25] books are?" And they'd be [00:54:26] like, "Oh yeah, [00:54:27] you talking about [00:54:28] Junie Notts, them books on scamming?" [00:54:29] That's [00:54:30] crazy [00:54:31] work, and that [00:54:32] also lets me [00:54:33] know he made some money [00:54:34] off them books.[00:54:35]
Bruce Anthony: Uh-huh.
Jay Aundrea: [00:54:36] For sure
Bruce Anthony: and [00:54:37] that he was [00:54:38] semi-popular [00:54:39] doing it. [00:54:40] Um, [00:54:41] look, [00:54:42] I... [00:54:43] [00:54:44] The fir- in the [00:54:45] last segment, [00:54:46] the John [00:54:47] Love [00:54:48] was actually [00:54:49] scamming. He [00:54:50] got [00:54:51] $1.3 million, right? This [00:54:52] [00:54:53] [00:54:54] $6.5 million [00:54:55] figure is [00:54:56] what they could have [00:54:57] gotten, is what [00:54:58] all the checks [00:54:59] amounted to, [00:55:00] but he ain't [00:55:01] get a dime.
Jay Aundrea: [00:55:02] Not
one [00:55:03] single
Bruce Anthony: not [00:55:04] a single [00:55:05] [00:55:06] solitary [00:55:07] cent. [00:55:08] So is it really scamming?[00:55:09]
Jay Aundrea: [00:55:10] Here's the thing. [00:55:11] I-- [00:55:12] [00:55:13] Okay, he failed at [00:55:14] that, but he was [00:55:15] [00:55:16] successful selling the [00:55:17] books, [00:55:18] his [00:55:19] music, his merch, [00:55:20] [00:55:21] all of that. He made [00:55:22] money. [00:55:23] He just didn't get [00:55:24] that 6.5 [00:55:25] mil
Bruce Anthony: So, [00:55:26]
The Double Fraud: Selling The Image Of A Successful Scammer 🎭📸💰
Bruce Anthony: so [00:55:27] if you've been doing it [00:55:28] for three years [00:55:29] and you ain't getting not [00:55:30] a dime, but you're starting [00:55:31] to get money [00:55:32] [00:55:33] perpetrating the fraud that [00:55:34] you are a [00:55:35] scammer, why [00:55:36] not just stop [00:55:37] breaking [00:55:38] the law [00:55:39] that you're [00:55:40] not getting any [00:55:41] money from [00:55:42] and just lie to [00:55:43] the pe- We're used to rappers [00:55:44] lying.
Jay Aundrea: [00:55:45] [00:55:46] [00:55:47] [00:55:48] Yes.
Bruce Anthony: [00:55:49] You ain't got to falsify [00:55:50] checks
Jay Aundrea: [00:55:51] plenty, uh, there are plenty [00:55:52] of rappers who [00:55:53] lived a regular, [00:55:54] normal life [00:55:55] that rap [00:55:56] about being in the [00:55:57] game and being [00:55:58] thugs and killers, and [00:55:59] we like, you [00:56:00] grew up [00:56:01] on a, [00:56:02] on a street [00:56:03] called Shady [00:56:04] Oaks Lane. [00:56:05] That [00:56:06] lets me [00:56:07] know that it was a [00:56:08] nice little [00:56:09] suburb. Like, [00:56:10] please, you perpetrate. [00:56:11] Yeah, like I [00:56:12] would've just leaned [00:56:13] in [00:56:14] to the [00:56:15] double fraud, which is [00:56:16] what it is.
[00:56:17] You pretended-- [00:56:18] You're [00:56:19] fraudulently pretending [00:56:20] to be a [00:56:21] fraudster. [00:56:22] It's a double fraud. [00:56:23] So I would've just [00:56:24] leaned into the double [00:56:25] fraud and sold the [00:56:26] books and the [00:56:27] merch. [00:56:28] [00:56:29] Why kee- 'cause, like, [00:56:30] you know what it was? [00:56:31] The prosecutor [00:56:32] said it. He's inept. [00:56:33] He thought it would [00:56:34] work at least [00:56:35] once. It--[00:56:36]
Bruce Anthony: [00:56:37] Over three years?[00:56:38]
Jay Aundrea: was gonna keep on [00:56:39] trying.
Hey, we've been [00:56:40] doing this podcast for [00:56:41] three years. [00:56:42] [00:56:43] [00:56:44] [00:56:45] It's [00:56:46] gonna work. It's called [00:56:47] [00:56:48] consistency. You gotta be [00:56:49] consistent.[00:56:50]
Bruce Anthony: Or, [00:56:51] [00:56:52] or [00:56:53] insanity.[00:56:54]
Jay Aundrea: Or [00:56:55] insanity, one [00:56:56] or the other. [00:56:57] The [00:56:58] purpose, the [00:56:59] point is you [00:57:00] consistent either [00:57:01] way. It's about [00:57:02] consistency. Yeah[00:57:03]
Bruce Anthony: uh, ah, if, [00:57:04] if, uh, [00:57:05] uh, I, I get what [00:57:06] you're saying with the [00:57:07] comparison with the podcast. [00:57:08] That's a funny, that's a [00:57:09] funny analogy. [00:57:10] [00:57:11] However, we [00:57:12] have grown. We [00:57:13] have seen some [00:57:14] benefits from doing the[00:57:15]
Jay Aundrea: So did he [00:57:16] and them books[00:57:17]
Bruce Anthony: but not [00:57:18] from the actual [00:57:19] altering [00:57:20] of the checks. [00:57:21] So [00:57:22] just stop [00:57:23] altering the check. [00:57:24] Why keep [00:57:25] going for three years?[00:57:26]
Why? [00:57:27] Eventually...
Jay Aundrea: why
Bruce Anthony: And [00:57:28] why?[00:57:29]
Jay Aundrea: [00:57:30] Why keep do- [00:57:31] [00:57:32] Listen, it's the [00:57:33] same
Bruce Anthony: No, [00:57:34] it's not the same thing. [00:57:35] And why [00:57:36] draw attention? [00:57:37] Why, if you [00:57:38] gonna commit [00:57:39] fraud,
Jay Aundrea: [00:57:40] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: why, [00:57:41] if you are [00:57:42] breaking the law, [00:57:43] are [00:57:44] you gonna have a [00:57:45] signature [00:57:46] with a certain [00:57:47] mask [00:57:48] every single [00:57:49] time talking [00:57:50] about free [00:57:51] sauce? [00:57:52] I, I don't even [00:57:53] know... No free [00:57:54] sauce. I don't even know [00:57:55] what that means.
[00:57:56] That's a young people [00:57:57] saying? What does that mean?
Jay Aundrea: [00:57:58] I don't know what it [00:57:59] means. [00:58:00] Um, we can look at [00:58:01] a, a, an [00:58:02] urban dictionary, but [00:58:03] I don't know what that [00:58:04] means. But the thing [00:58:05] of, the thing of it is, [00:58:06] is like [00:58:07] he-- [00:58:08] [00:58:09] It's, it's [00:58:10] the image, right? He [00:58:11] was selling the [00:58:12] image of doing [00:58:13] fraud and committing [00:58:14] fraud, even though he [00:58:15] was a fraud at [00:58:16] being a fraud, [00:58:17] double fraud. [00:58:18] Like he was selling [00:58:19] the image [00:58:20] and he [00:58:21] was profiting [00:58:22] off of that [00:58:23] image.
[00:58:24] Now, could he [00:58:25] have stopped doing the [00:58:26] actual [00:58:27] fraud? Well, [00:58:28] at this point [00:58:29] he already [00:58:30] started and so [00:58:31] like [00:58:32] regardless-- But I mean, [00:58:33] like the first time he [00:58:34] did it, [00:58:35] you was-- you gonna go [00:58:36] down if they [00:58:37] catch you, right? So you [00:58:38] might as well keep [00:58:39] being consistent[00:58:40]
Bruce Anthony: There is a [00:58:41] statute of limitations [00:58:42] on certain crimes. [00:58:43] Had he stopped the first year, I don't know what the statute of [00:58:44] [00:58:45] [00:58:46] limitations are. They [00:58:47] typically run five, 10, [00:58:48] 15 years, [00:58:49] right? [00:58:50] Had he [00:58:51] just [00:58:52] not do- had he [00:58:53] just stopped [00:58:54] after the first time, like, "Oh, [00:58:55] this didn't work," [00:58:56] I [00:58:57] would be to... [00:58:58] My heart rate [00:58:59] would be through the [00:59:00] roof every [00:59:01] time I [00:59:02] deposited one of them [00:59:03] checks.
'Cause [00:59:04] eventually, you [00:59:05] going around the metro area, [00:59:06] who's to say that [00:59:07] he was using [00:59:08] different banks? [00:59:09] Who's to [00:59:10] say?
Jay Aundrea: d- no, I [00:59:11] guarantee this dumb [00:59:12] dumb was using the [00:59:13] same four or five [00:59:14] ATMs
Bruce Anthony: P- [00:59:15] he was using [00:59:16] PNC and Capital One [00:59:17] everywhere. Everywhere he [00:59:18] went [00:59:19] PNC and [00:59:20] Capital One. [00:59:21] I, I [00:59:22] understand [00:59:23] the, the scam [00:59:24] that he was running [00:59:25] after the fact, [00:59:26] right? Our, our [00:59:27] president and that's in [00:59:28] the United States [00:59:29] Oval Office [00:59:30] right now
Jay Aundrea: [00:59:31] Mm-hmm.
Bruce Anthony: [00:59:32] running[00:59:33]
Jay Aundrea: They're running the [00:59:34] same scam. [00:59:35] Yes
Bruce Anthony: type of scam. Say, say they something, [00:59:36] sell you on [00:59:37] something, they not [00:59:38] that, but you
Jay Aundrea: [00:59:39] Did anybody get [00:59:40] they phones? They [00:59:41] little gold
Bruce Anthony: They, uh, [00:59:42] I, they did [00:59:43] start to... [00:59:44] After he made that trip to [00:59:45] China
Jay Aundrea: [00:59:46] Yeah.
Bruce Anthony: [00:59:47] 'cause,
Jay Aundrea: [00:59:48] So they're [00:59:49] non-American [00:59:50] made gold [00:59:51] phones?
Bruce Anthony: they [00:59:52] changed it. They said it was gonna [00:59:53] be [00:59:54] American-made, and it was [00:59:55] inspired [00:59:56] by [00:59:57] America.
But [00:59:58] anyway, [00:59:59] scamming. [01:00:00] Just stick to the [01:00:01] scam that's [01:00:02] actually [01:00:03] working
Jay Aundrea: Yeah[01:00:04]
Bruce Anthony: because that, it [01:00:05] wasn't-- [01:00:06] That [01:00:07] is legal. What he [01:00:08] was doing, [01:00:09] I [01:00:10] think, were
Jay Aundrea: [01:00:11] I [01:00:12] don't think [01:00:13] so. You can't [01:00:14] just [01:00:15] release [01:00:16] tutorials [01:00:17] on how to commit [01:00:18] crimes. I [01:00:19] feel like [01:00:20] that's [01:00:21] not legal[01:00:22]
Bruce Anthony: I don't know. [01:00:23] You could say that's [01:00:24] artistic freedom. [01:00:25] That might [01:00:26] be under f- [01:00:27] uh, the [01:00:28] First Amendment, the [01:00:29] freedom of
Jay Aundrea: that might be [01:00:30] protected? I
Bruce Anthony: [01:00:31] might be, I've gotta have to [01:00:32] talk to my lawyer [01:00:33] friends
Jay Aundrea: Yeah, [01:00:34] there's a lot of caveats [01:00:35] to that. Like you [01:00:36] can't like incite [01:00:37] violence with your [01:00:38] speech. You can't do... [01:00:39] So like I, [01:00:40] this
Bruce Anthony: don't think this is [01:00:41] just citing violence [01:00:42] though. This is, this is,
Jay Aundrea: [01:00:43] But like there's [01:00:44] caveats
Bruce Anthony: Yeah, true,
Jay Aundrea: the [01:00:45] First Amendment, [01:00:46] so there might be a [01:00:47] caveat [01:00:48] for [01:00:49] if your [01:00:50] speech [01:00:51] in some way [01:00:52] in- incites [01:00:53] or [01:00:54] facilitates people [01:00:55] doing [01:00:56] crimes, you might [01:00:57] not be able [01:00:58] to do that.
But [01:00:59] I mean, if he [01:01:00] sold the books as [01:01:01] fiction,[01:01:02]
Bruce Anthony: There you go[01:01:03]
Jay Aundrea: you know, [01:01:04] or so- hey, [01:01:05] hey.
Bruce Anthony: See, that's a [01:01:06] scam. [01:01:07] Not this [01:01:08] inept scam that he was [01:01:09] doing. Well, [01:01:10] okay, look, [01:01:11] basically [01:01:12] the hit song [01:01:13] is Where All [01:01:14] My Scammers At. [01:01:15] They [01:01:16] here. They [01:01:17] here.
Jay Aundrea: here. They're in [01:01:18] Atlanta.
Bruce Anthony: y'all was [01:01:19] asking for them.[01:01:20]
Jay Aundrea: Yeah,
Bruce Anthony: [01:01:21] Be careful what you [01:01:22] ask for [01:01:23] 'cause you was singing that [01:01:24] song and you can get [01:01:25] scammed out your money [01:01:26] like my man Dijon [01:01:27] Love, and [01:01:28] I'm sure [01:01:29] Junie not [01:01:30] scammed some other [01:01:31] people out of, out of [01:01:32] they money as [01:01:33] well.
I, I, yeah, [01:01:34] I know he probably
Jay Aundrea: [01:01:35] who bought [01:01:36] anything he was [01:01:37] selling got scammed [01:01:38] [01:01:39] because he's a double [01:01:40] fraudster
Bruce Anthony: [01:01:41] Jay, what do you want to leave [01:01:42] these people [01:01:43] with?
Jay Aundrea: Look, [01:01:44] if [01:01:45] you're looking for the [01:01:46] scammers [01:01:47] [01:01:48] and the, and the, and the [01:01:49] girls, [01:01:50] uh, [01:01:51] stuffing that in [01:01:52] they bag, [01:01:53] [01:01:54] okay? The [01:01:55] boosting [01:01:56] ones, they [01:01:57] here in the [01:01:58] Atlanta metro [01:01:59] area. Uh, you [01:02:00] could throw a rock and [01:02:01] find them. Again, that [01:02:02] made up statistic, [01:02:03] one in [01:02:04] three people is out [01:02:05] here in the metro [01:02:06] Atlanta area [01:02:07] scamming. Made it [01:02:08] up off the [01:02:09] top of my head, [01:02:10] but I'm pretty sure [01:02:11] it's probably [01:02:12] close[01:02:13] [01:02:14]
Bruce Anthony: [01:02:15] Oh my
Jay Aundrea: [01:02:16] W-watch your [01:02:17] neck when you come down [01:02:18] here. Guard your [01:02:19] wallet. [01:02:20] Okay? [01:02:21] [01:02:22] And don't [01:02:23] trust a QR [01:02:24] code, even if [01:02:25] it looks like [01:02:26] it's the QR code you [01:02:27] need to park. [01:02:28] It's a [01:02:29] scam.
Bruce Anthony: [01:02:30] [01:02:31] Oh [01:02:32]
The Real Lesson: It's Not About Scams, It's All About Evidence 🔎🧠💯
Bruce Anthony: my goodness. For [01:02:33] me, [01:02:34] I wanna bring this all [01:02:35] back around for a [01:02:36] second, [01:02:37] because on the surface, [01:02:38] these two stories [01:02:39] don't really have [01:02:40] much in common as [01:02:41] far as the s- [01:02:42] actual scams are [01:02:43] concerned. [01:02:44] Dejon Love [01:02:45] allegedly created a fake [01:02:46] life, fake [01:02:47] football career, fake [01:02:48] money, fake [01:02:49] investments, and allegedly [01:02:50] used the internet and [01:02:51] AI [01:02:52] to make that [01:02:53] lie look [01:02:54] legitimate.
[01:02:55] Shamari Brooks, [01:02:56] not [01:02:57] allegedly, built a [01:02:58] whole business [01:02:59] around the appearance that [01:03:00] he knew how to [01:03:01] commit fraud, even [01:03:02] though [01:03:03] prosecutors say the actual [01:03:04] check scheme [01:03:05] never produced [01:03:06] a known [01:03:07] financial [01:03:08] loss to any [01:03:09] victims or [01:03:10] financial gain [01:03:11] to his [01:03:12] pockets.
Jay Aundrea: The [01:03:13] more
Bruce Anthony: the more I thought [01:03:14] about these stories, the [01:03:15] more I realized [01:03:16] this isn't really about [01:03:17] scams.
Jay Aundrea: [01:03:18] they adopted
Bruce Anthony: It's about [01:03:19] evidence. [01:03:20] Because people have [01:03:21] always lied. [01:03:22] That's nothing new. [01:03:23] What's new is [01:03:24] how easy it is to [01:03:25] build an entire [01:03:26] world around the [01:03:27] lie. A picture [01:03:28] can be fake, a [01:03:29] video can be fake, [01:03:30] a social media [01:03:31] profile can be [01:03:32] fake, and [01:03:33] now apparently [01:03:34] even the thing you [01:03:35] use to [01:03:36] fact-check somebody can [01:03:37] give you the wrong [01:03:38] answer with [01:03:39] complete [01:03:40] confidence.[01:03:41]
That's [01:03:42] what's happening here. [01:03:43] The women didn't just [01:03:44] take this man's [01:03:45] word for it. They [01:03:46] searched for him, and the [01:03:47] machine allegedly [01:03:48] gave them confirmation [01:03:49] that [01:03:50] what they were looking [01:03:51] for was [01:03:52] exactly what [01:03:53] he was [01:03:54] saying that he was. [01:03:55] The thing that he [01:03:56] used to [01:03:57] verify the lie [01:03:58] actually [01:03:59] became part of the [01:04:00] lie.
And [01:04:01] that's bigger than AI, [01:04:02] because we're [01:04:03] entering a world where the [01:04:04] appearance of proof can be [01:04:05] manufactured just as [01:04:06] easily as the lie [01:04:07] itself. [01:04:08] So I don't think the [01:04:09] answer is to stop [01:04:10] believing everything. [01:04:11] That's [01:04:12] not [01:04:13] skepticism, that's [01:04:14] cynicism. [01:04:15] That's my sister. [01:04:16] I'm more [01:04:17] of a skeptic. [01:04:18] I think the [01:04:19] answer is [01:04:20] learning to [01:04:21] slow down.[01:04:22]
Ask where [01:04:23] something came [01:04:24] from. Find the [01:04:25] original source. [01:04:26] Ask who [01:04:27] benefits if you [01:04:28] believe it. And [01:04:29] maybe, most [01:04:30] importantly, [01:04:31] ask what would [01:04:32] prove you [01:04:33] wrong? [01:04:34] Because if you're going to live [01:04:35] in a world where [01:04:36] seeing it isn't [01:04:37] necessarily believing, [01:04:38] searching isn't [01:04:39] necessarily [01:04:40] verifying, and evidence isn't [01:04:41] necessarily [01:04:42] [01:04:43] evidence, then we [01:04:44] can't outsource our [01:04:45] judgment. The [01:04:46] technology is only [01:04:47] going to get [01:04:48] better at [01:04:49] creating convincing [01:04:50] realities, so we have [01:04:51] to get better at [01:04:52] questioning them [01:04:53] because here's the [01:04:54] uncomfortable part people don't [01:04:55] want to talk about. [01:04:56] We're not just [01:04:57] entering a world where [01:04:58] people can lie to [01:04:59] us.
We're entering [01:05:00] a world [01:05:01] where they can make the [01:05:02] evidence look [01:05:03] like it's telling the [01:05:04] truth, [01:05:05] and that's a whole [01:05:06] different game, [01:05:07] and we need [01:05:08] to pay [01:05:09] close attention to it. [01:05:10] [01:05:11] Ladies and gentlemen, I want to [01:05:12] thank you for listening. [01:05:13] I want to [01:05:14] thank you for [01:05:15] watching, and [01:05:16] until next [01:05:17] time, as [01:05:18] always, [01:05:19] [01:05:20] I'll [01:05:21] holla
