Key Takeaways:

  • Viral internet content can easily mislead people, especially those who don’t question what they see online.
  • Education systems separate students by ability, which can have long-term effects on self-esteem and perceived intelligence.
  • Exposure and cultural background play a significant role in what people know; ignorance is not the same as lack of intelligence.
  • The new Superman movie, directed by James Gunn, has sparked controversy for its themes of kindness and the immigrant experience, which some critics label as "woke."
  • Bruce argues that basic human kindness is often missing in American society and that holding America accountable for its actions is not unpatriotic.
  • The importance of financial protection in marriage (prenups) is highlighted, especially for those entering with assets or significant differences in wealth.
  • Relationship dynamics can be complicated by issues of trust, control, and personal growth over time.

Quotes:

  • "People that aren't researchers, people that don't search for the truth are gonna think what they're seeing is the truth and they're gonna fall for it." — Bruce Anthony
  • "There's a difference between being dumb and being ignorant. Being ignorant is just not knowing." — Bruce Anthony
  • "Kindness is anti-American. It's been anti-American all my lifetime. When has America shown kindness in any of their laws and any of their domestic policies and any of their international policies?" — Bruce Anthony
  • "Holding America accountable for its unkind actions, it's not un-American, doesn't mean that you don't love America." — Bruce Anthony
  • "Superman is a story of America, an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me, it's mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and something that we have lost." (quoting James Gunn, discussed by Bruce Anthony)
  • "If I were to get remarried again, and I'm not opposed to getting remarried, we gotta do a prenup." — Bruce Anthony
  • "Marriage is complicated. Don't make it more complicated by not getting a prenup." — Bruce Anthony

We're gonna be reviewing the Superman movie and we're gonna be talking about marriages and prenups, but that's enough of the intro.

Let's get to the show.

[00:01:00]

Bruce Anthony: You know, I often talk about people not understanding the internet. I mean, and with the advent or not the advent, with the expansion of AI and the ability to create realistic videos, people are gonna become more and more confused. People that aren't researchers, people that don't search for the truth are gonna think what they're seeing is the truth and they're gonna fall for it.

Like, we know that scammers prey on the elderly, because if you instill fear into the elderly, they're more, uh, adapted, going along with something, they're less questioned because they're, they're older, they're confused, and they're scared. So scammers will go after. The elderly because of those re reasons.

EXPOSED: The Truth About Viral Reels & Internet Scams πŸŽπŸ•΅οΈ‍β™‚οΈβš οΈ

Bruce Anthony: Scammers will also go after idiots for the very same reason, because I don't think [00:02:00] I question everything all the time. I don't say that to think that I'm better than anybody. It's just my natural disposition. I question everything. I was raised that way to question everything and to say, Hey, that don't make any sense to me.

Explain it. Why am I bringing all this up? There was a viral reel of supposedly a robber breaking into a home and befriending the dog. The dog decided not to attack the robber. The robber the, dog was kind of indifferent. As the robber is putting things into his sack. He's petting the dog, he's playing with the dog, he's loving the dog, and the dog is loving it.

And I go down into the comments. 'cause immediately as I'm watching the video, I'm like, oh, this is staged like this. Isn't a real thing because I could just tell it's stage. I decided to go into the comments because I'm al always, I'm messy. I'm always [00:03:00] fascinated at what people think, what people see, how they respond to certain things.

I'm just curious about people and the stupidity of people. And as I'm in the comments, I'm seeing things that are really nice, like, hey, if my house was being robbed and my dog and they was loving my dog like that, they could take whatever they want. 'cause my dog's getting loves. And as a former dog owner and somebody who just absolutely loves dogs, I get it right?

Like I get it. Like, yeah, definitely love up my dog. I mean, don't take everything but love up my dog 'cause my dog is there all alone and is pretty set. Other people were like, oh my God, the dog didn't do anything. I wish my dog wouldn't like defend my house, this and that. And I'm like, it's staged. It's staged.

So the channel that actually put this, posted this video, stole it from the original owner. And the original owner is Boo X World [00:04:00] underscore. That's, you can find the Instagram, channel not, it's not a channel Instagram page by going Boo, B-A-A-B-E-A-U-X world. And it's by Aaron Gallagher. And he has a whole bunch of videos on his page with him and his dog.

And dog is just so adorable. And he was like, Hey, don't, uh, don't forget the credit Bo who, uh, Bo or Boo, which I assume is the name of the dog. And I was like, oh yeah, just as I thought this was a stage video, but the idea that so many people thought that it was real. Confuses me, and I know I get up here a lot of times and I sound egotistical and, and I don't mean it to come off like that.

I genuinely Don't.

The Hidden Truth About How Schools Really Sort Our Kids πŸ“šπŸ§ πŸ’‘

Bruce Anthony: I just, so there was a meme that I saw the other day and I [00:05:00] repost it every six months. And the meme, as I've talked about it on the show, the meme was, you know, they divided us up in the classes when we were younger. They, they gave us, you know, average classes, honors classes, and some would say remedial, but below average people that didn't pick up things as quickly.

And I reposted it and my friend, she's Turkish and uh, she went to college here in the States. That's how I met her. She's, she's over in Italy now with her daughter and her husband. And she said, well, I don't agree with that. And I said, well, what do you mean you don't agree with that? I don't agree with separating and segregating kids.

I was like, no. As an educator, it makes sense. You know, I talk about it all the time. I went to school to be an educator. As an educator, it makes sense. Like the students learn differently. I'm a visual learner. I can read, I have good reading comprehension. I [00:06:00] can read and learn stuff, but I'm if I see it, no matter what it is, I see it, I got it.

And that's just who I am. So children learn differently and children learn at different speeds. Sometimes, you know, certain subjects things just click. Things just clicked with me in math. Things just clicked with me in history. Things did not click with me in language arts or science. Like there, the only science that I was actually good at was physics, and I still don't know how I got a A in that college class.

But most of the sciences I had real trouble with. even when I was in the advanced level courses, it I, needed a little extra help. I was beyond the average level courses, but sometimes would struggle in the honors courses and sciences. Right. And sometimes children need to be placed where they can learn the best.

And you don't wanna place every kid in the same class because some are going [00:07:00] to be bored because they get the material really quickly and they have nothing to do. And some kids are just gonna be frustrated because they're behind, they can't keep up, and they're just going to give up. So that's the reason why we segregate.

And I, and I know that word is problematic, but it is, we separate the children and through the levels of which they learn. And not to say that a student that's in the below average, because I was in below average reading classes all of elementary and you know, my sister just brought it up before, it's because I was taught site reading in kindergarten and first grade going to a Montessori elementary school.

And I didn't learn phonics. And so I was behind all the other kids when we moved. 'cause I went to, I don't know, three or four different elementary schools. I had a crazy school career. I went to three or four different elementary schools, two different middle schools, three different high schools, right?

Because we moved around so much and wasn't even in the army. It's just, that's just what happened. So because I'm [00:08:00] moving around so much, different school districts, different states teach the material differently. And I went to a Montessori school, so I was behind in reading. So when I moved to Virginia from Illinois, they put me in remedial reading classes until I caught up.

And I didn't catch up until like the fifth or sixth grade. Like it took a little while and it wasn't because. You know, I, I wasn't smart. It was because the way that I was initially taught WA wasn't the best and I needed extra. He help to catch up. So when we separate these children, it's for the betterment of them.

Now, don't get me started in how kids get placed in certain areas, uh, uh, as far as these class structures, and they shouldn't be there. Some, I dated woman. She was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Told me that she was in remedial classes all through high school. [00:09:00] She went to college, like she's got a master's degree.

She went to law school, right? She's obviously not remedial, but because of earlier placement, she was stigmatized and never really exceeded. And then because of that. She had low self-esteem and stopped trying to work until finally her father challenged her because he was like you're, smart. You should do better.

Why am I talking about all this?

SHOCKING: The Real Reason Some People Seem Smarter Than Others πŸ€―πŸŽ“πŸ”

Bruce Anthony: Right? Like I, 'cause I was talking about viral reels and you're like, Bruce, you were, you brought up viral reels and people falling victim to it, and then you talked about schools and the separation of grade levels. Like what is your point to all this? The point to all this was the mean is clear.

We were separated growing up in our learning systems and social media, and now in the adult world, [00:10:00] we are all mixing together. And I am finding out at my golden age of 45, but it's been happening over the last 10 years or so. That people aren't bright. But I didn't know that because all of the classes that I were in was in, even going into college, I was all with people who were intellectually my peers.

So I just thought that people I thought that I had average intelligence. I really did. I thought that I had average intelligence because in middle school and high school and college, in these honors classes and these advanced classes and, and going into college, I mean, I did well, but it wasn't like I was the, top of the top.

Right. So I was like, oh yeah, no. So like, I'm, I'm middle of the road. As far as intelligence concerned, no, I was middle of the road as [00:11:00] far as intelligence is concerned, because I'm all in honors and advanced classes. I'm actually well above average intelligence. And I didn't know this until I entered into the real world, and I'm dealing with adults that I was separated from for the majority of my life.

And then I'm realizing, oh, you aren't smart. Like, you're dumb. I didn't get it. Look and, some of his stuff is cultural. Some of it is just the way we were raised. I have a friend, college graduate, went to a prestigious college for his undergrad, prestigious. I was in high school with him. We were in honors classes together.

Okay? This is not a dumb man at all. Very successful in his career. Known him for 30 years. Not a dumb man. He's in New York City, he's with his daughter and we're in a group chat and he's texting us [00:12:00] and he is like, yeah man, it cost me a hundred dollars for a bike ride. Now, immediately I say to myself, this doesn't make sense.

Please explain how you spent a hundred dollars for a bike ride because I live in Washington DC And to rent a cap share, that's what it's called, bike, it's like $2 and 50 cents and you have it for like 30 minutes or something like that. And in 30 minutes, I personally can ride, I don't know, 10, 20 miles in 30 minutes.

Like I can move on a bike even though the speeds aren't that high, I can move on a bike. And he said that he and his daughter was going five blocks. His daughter is kind of young. Maybe they, it took a little time, but still to rent two blocks. I know New York City is expensive. It doesn't make any sense to me why it cost you a hundred dollars.

Then he says, yeah, I almost lost my mind when the man told me how much everything cost at the end of the ride. And I said, wait a minute, hold up. This [00:13:00] really doesn't make sense because anytime you rent a bike, it's a cap share. It's a kiosk, it's unmanned, you know, you enter in your credit card information, you know, you get the bike that it unlocks the bike, and then you ride to the next stop to, to park the bike.

What are you talking about? There's a man that you had to pay a hundred dollars to. I was like, what type of bikes were you riding? I, I know you were putting her on a moped or a motorcycle. 'cause she's young, so he sends me a picture of it and I said, bruh, that's a rig Shaw, that's not a bike, that's a rig.

Shaw. And. It's not like, you know, with rickshaw is you can either have a person riding a bike, pulling you, or you have a horse. Right? You see it all the time in New York City, the horse and carriage ride that it is rickshaw. Okay? And, and I was like, bro, yes, you five [00:14:00] blocks in New York City and where a guy is biking you and your daughter that's in a carriage.

Yes, that's a hundred dollars. He says in the group chat, I have never heard of that word in my entire life. I said, what, bro? We was in honors classes together. You, have a degree from a prestigious university. You are a successful, well traveled individual. You never heard of rickshaw. And then it dawned on me, this isn't a a, a thing of intelligence.

This is just what you've been exposed to. I don't know where I've learned that from. Probably a movie or something like that. Maybe it was a, the, a history course or I, I don't know where I, I actually learned what that was, but I learned it. Some people are not, not smart. Some people were just not exposed to certain things.

That's the reason why Don't get me started with the SAT and the a CT [00:15:00] when they were always talking about it was culturally biased and people were white people were talking about, what do you mean? Of course it's not culturally biased. Yes, it was because certain people are experienced in certain things, other people are not.

Guess what? Here's something that I'm really dumb about. I don't know. Proper silverware. Now, of course I know fork, spoon, knife, all that stuff, but when you line up, you know, multiple spoons, multiple forks. I don't know what each fork does, each spoon. I'm not fancy like that. I don't like going to fancy restaurants.

I have been, I've been taught, didn't retain it. Didn't retain it because I was like, this isn't information that I need to retain because how often am I gonna go to this and I don't really care. I'm gonna use this fork for whatever I want to use the fork for. I'm gonna use this spoon for whatever I wanna use the spoon for.

I don't care what the etiquette is 'cause this doesn't matter to me. I don't care. I say all that to say this. 'cause we're talking about viral means, we're talking about intelligence. [00:16:00] When I talk about people not understanding certain things, a lot of times I give people grace because a lot of times people are exposed to certain things and there's a difference between being dumb and being ignorant.

Being ignorant is just not knowing. Being dumb is being, is not being able to pick up or information is being given to you. Some of these people in the comments were dumb. I'm sorry. In this video, I don't understand how you couldn't tell that this was staged. No robber. No matter how much of a dog owner, a dog lover you are, no robber is going to break into a home pet and love on a dog all the while gathering things.

You need to get in and get out. I don't know about robbery 'cause I ain't never done it, but I ain't seen enough robbery in movies. I seen enough, [00:17:00] you know, crime shows and things like that. Watch enough law and order that there's a time constraint with the particular process. You need to get in. You need to get out.

You're not gonna play with certain, you're not gonna play with a dog while you robbing a joint. You need to get in, you need to get out. That just makes common sense to me. But sense ain't always common. And the more and more social media, the more I feel I'm getting dumber because I'm interacting with dumb ass people.

Bruce Anthony: This segment is going to be, I don't know if it's gonna be fairly long, but it's gonna be the meat of the episode. This is about Superman. Now, I will be giving Superman spoilers. I will let you know before I start giving Superman spoilers and reviews so that you can skip ahead. I'm going to, when I start talking about the Superman spoilers [00:18:00] and reviews, I don't know if it's gonna be timestamped or not.

Uh, I, I might timestamp it in the, notes and the chapter videos, but just know that I'll tell you. All right. If you don't wanna hear no spoilers, skip ahead.

DRAMA ALERT: MAGA vs Superman - The Controversy Explained! 🦸‍β™‚οΈπŸŽ¬πŸΏ

Bruce Anthony: But before I even talk about the movie, there's been some controversy about Superman, and I'm not talking about controversy as in the movie is good or bad.

I'm talking about controversy from the director. Response of a comment that he made from maga. And when I say maga, realize I'm talking about a spec, a specific type of person. Too often now I look at the Republican party and MAGA has taken control of that party, but there are people that I know that are Republicans and, we fundamentally disagree on certain things, but there's more common [00:19:00] commonality between, Old school Democrats and old school Republicans. Then there are, then there is with MAGA and the ultra left. And I don't know if I'm ultra left or not. I'm definitely progressive. I'm definitely progressive. I'm definitely a liberal. I don't know if I'm extreme left. There's some people out there that, uh, I'm not gonna name their names.

They're completely abolitionists and they don't believe in prisons. I'm not going that far. Like I'm not going that far. Like, uh, some people need to be locked up forever. Some people are evil and can't be helped. And some people are like, there's a difference between defund the police, which is not getting rid of the police, is getting rid of them doing certain things.

And, then abolishment of the police that is getting rid of the police do not believe in the abolishing. The police do believe in defunding the police. They are different things. So [00:20:00] when I talk about Maga. I'm talking about a specific section of what was a political party that has now become a cult because every true Republican, old school Republican is now leaving.

They're not running for office. They've given up, which is so funny because they're supposed to be the party of strength, but yet they're soft. They gave up their party. So when I talk about MAGA, I'm talking specifically about them. If you identify as an old school Republican and you are just upset that your party has been taken up by these extreme zealots, I'm not talking to you.

I'm not talking about you. Not at all me. We just disagree on certain things. We disagree on how to get to certain things. We fundamentally agree on what we want to do and help people. We just disagree on how to get [00:21:00] there. Maga. Something completely different. So when I'm talking about this particular subject, I'm talking about MAGA and why are they upset?

They are upset because James Gunn, had a quote, and I will read the quote later, but they're ex the MAGA is, extre is expressing extreme objections to his quote and his approach to the entire Superman film, particularly after Gunn said that Superman as an immigrant and emphasized his basic human kindness as a lost value in America.

So, I'll get to the quote later, but the movie is about a superhero, Superman, and a world of superheroes. This is not a spoiler, this is the premise of the movie. Okay. You can read this anywhere before the movie came out. [00:22:00] It's about Superman in a world of superheroes where he's the outlier because he is just pure kindness and genuinely wants to help while some superheroes are being funded by companies and corporations.

So he's just here to help. There's no other means of which he's using his powers. It's to help. While some superheroes are like, I can't do this, I can't do that. I'm working with this company. I can't cross this company, I can't cross this barrier. And he's living in that world. And so what James Gunn is saying, look, he's an immigrant, an alien from another world, and all he's doing is just basic human kindness, which James Gunn said is a loss value in America.

And like I said, MAGA is up in arms about this calling the film. Woke and doing a [00:23:00] culture war debate. The first thing they don't like is the immigrant analogy. Guns portrayal as Superman as an immigrant, was seen by some conservatives and as a political statement about US immigration policy rather than a neutral character trait.

Critics argued that the analogy was a terrible one, an accused gun of injecting progressive ideology into the character. Okay, so let's be clear. The story of Superman is his home planet is being destroyed. His parents in an effort to save him, send him to another land where they know he should survive because of the yellow sun will give him powers that he should survive.

Somehow, [00:24:00] this is a terrible analogy about our immigration policy.

I did a show, an interview with Stephanie Carna Alis, who talked about the migration of children from Central and South America to the United States, and the struggles of which they are leaving, the struggles of which the travel to get here all for a better tomorrow. And let's be clear, some people will say, well, the motto of Superman is truth, justice in the American way.

That has not been the motto for Superman for decades now. It hasn't. It's changed it's truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. That's what Superman's slogan now says. It's not the American way. It ended a long time ago. It's not the American way. It's a better tomorrow. So once again, [00:25:00] how is that an issue? He is literally an immigrant.

He's an alien. He's an illegal alien. Okay. He's an illegal alien. That's always been the story of Superman from the inception. And you know who created Superman? Two Jewish writers created Superman during the rise of the Nazis, as their champion, as their superhero. A person whose world was destroyed and an and his parents in an effort to save him, sent him to another land.

That sounds really familiar, but somehow. The original story of Superman is woke. Okay. What? What else do conservatives or MAGA have a problem with? They have a problem of the [00:26:00] emphasis on kindness. Uh, okay. Alright. So gun comments about the loss of basic human kindness, where interpreted by right-leaning media as an implication criticize a impli.

It is an implication of a criticism of American society and conservative values. Some commentators suggested that even advocating kindness was being framed as a partner in an attack. Okay. They took Superman as having basic human kindness as an attack on their conservative values. These are the same people that are the religious right, right.

Claim that they're Christian conservatives. Basic human kindness is an attack on their principles. You ever notice when you call somebody out on something that when you call them out on something true, they get mad? [00:27:00] They don't. They lack accountability. They get mad. Like if you ever call somebody in a lie and they'll be like, you're lying, and they get matter or more mad because you know that they're lying.

You call them out in the lie. They don't like being confronted. They don't like that accountability. This is the same group of people, conservatives, maga, who are attacking James Gun for saying that Superman has basic human kindness. The same people that are attacking James Gun forgiven Superman. This basic human kindness are the same people that developed Alligator Alcatraz.

Alligator alley. You know that whole jail or detention center that they've put down in Florida for what they call illegal immigrants? Tation Denta. [00:28:00] That's, what they're doing. Where's that basic human kindness? How was it? Have you seen it? The name says in itself, there's nothing kind about it. A hit dog will holler.

They've been hit. Okay. Alright. What else are they attacking about the movie Woke Labeling? Fox News. Fox News and other conservative outlets have branded the film as super woke arguing that Hollywood is using Superman to push radical anti-American agenda.

Basic human kindness. It is a radical anti-American agenda. Actually, I'm not gonna disagree with that. It is anti-American. It kindness is anti-American. It's been anti-American all my lifetime. [00:29:00] When has America shown kindness and any of their laws and any of their domestic policies and any of their international policies?

very rarely does America show kindness. So Superman having basic human needs is kind of anti-American and, the way that we handle things. This isn't coming from a person that hates America. Even though there are people that are going to be in the comments and say that you hate America.

Now I know more about America and willing to admit more about about America than you will. So amazing that, you know, people are unaware. Or unable to hold the country accountable. You've been wronged by another person. You hold that person accountable, right? We know our parents and our loved ones aren't [00:30:00] perfect.

They make mistakes. You hold them accountable. Doesn't mean that you don't love them. Holding America accountable for its unkind actions, it's not un-American, doesn't mean that you don't love America. That's what people want to say when they just want to exclude you from having any say in policymaking.

Okay. What else? What else is MAGA complaining about Superman? A rejection of political messaging and entertainment. Conservatives figures, conservative figures like Kellyann Conway say, audience don't want to be lectured to at the movies and others called for boycotts and express intent to skip the film because of gun's Remarks once again, I'm gonna read gun's remarks, but, okay.

Kellyann Conway, former speaker or a house pre a house Press secretary [00:31:00] for Donald Trump. Fox News commentator constantly lecturing other people constantly about what they should believe, what they should be doing, and attacking other people. That's her job. That's what she's been in the American consciousness for the last 12 years.

That's who she is. Has the audacity to say that Hollywood shouldn't be putting lectures in their movies when she's on TV almost every day lecturing. You don't see the hypocrisy in that. And oh, by the way, there was no lecturing in the movie because once again, James Gun's comments was basic human kindness.

This is the issue that they have. This is the issue that MAGA has basic human kindness. Okay, so let's get the James Guns quote. 'cause what? What did he say? Did he say Superman came here and was like F America and, I'm not about this. I'm gonna change the ways 'cause these people was wilding out. Did he say something that crazy [00:32:00] Because he had to, for people to be responding like this.

So what was the actual quote? I'm gonna read it to you verbatim. Here's James Gun's. Quote, Superman is a story of America, an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me, it's mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and something that we have lost. Yet, yes, it plays differently, but it's about human kindness.

There will inevitably, inevitably be people who are unkind and take offense simply because it sinners on kindness, but forget them. Superman emerges at a time when many are feeling lost of faith in humanity's goodness.

Why Kindness Is the Real Superpower πŸŒπŸ’–βœ¨

Bruce Anthony: I'm telling a story about a uniquely good person and that feels necessary. Now, given the negativity arising from cultural figures online.

I'm not here to judge people. I think this movie is about kindness, and I think that's something that everyone can relate to. [00:33:00] Have you been online lately? I did in the first segment, attack dumb people. I did okay. And I'm online. I would say that that was a little unkind to call these people dumb.

And they were. And, and, uh, you know, I just saw the Superman movie a couple of days ago. I should have been a little bit more kind. And for all those people that made those dumb comments, I apologize for you being dumb, but what he's saying is he's looking out in the world and he's on social media and, he sees what's happening in the world.

And the world doesn't look too kind, doesn't look like people are being kind to one another. Right. And he's saying Superman is dropped into this world that's very similar [00:34:00] to the world that we're living in currently in real life. He's like, I just want to help people and be kind. That's all I want to do.

Superman Under Fire: What the Haters Are Saying πŸ”₯πŸ—£οΈπŸ‘€

Bruce Anthony: I'm gonna get into exact quotes from some of these MAGA people. Greg got Field, who's Fox News commentator or considers himself a comedian. I've never laughed at any of his stuff. And also, by the way, if you are a comedian, laughing at your own jokes don't make you funny. But anyway, he says Guns.

Description of Superman as an immigrant is a terrible analogy with Superman, they are sending their your best. That let's not escalate material. Referencing Trump's comments on immigration. So is Krypton sending their best or is he just his best because he's Superman? Krypton is just sending, [00:35:00] Jarrell was important, but they send a baby.

So Krypton wasn't sending their best. They just sent a kid. So what is he talking about? This doesn't make any sense. Jesse Waters said that, you know what it says on this Cape MS 13? It doesn't, it's this, it's Superman. Uh, MS 13. I don't even know how you can, how, how do you, how do you make the connection of Superman being kind in MS 13?

Do you see how ridiculous some of these statements are? Kellyann Conway, we don't need, need to go to the movie theater to be lectured and have somebody throw their ideologies onto us. You do it every single day. Ben Shapiro, guns woke. Superman reboot is part of a radical anti-Americanism inject in infecting Hollywood, the media, and even the next possible mayor of New York City.

What? Okay, Stephen L. Miller. Darth. C The reason Hollywood can't get Superman, right, is [00:36:00] Superman is about what's good about America and Hollywood hates America. Okay?

The Truth About Superman's Heart: More Than a Hero! 🦸‍β™‚οΈβ€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Bruce Anthony: if Superman, if James Gunn's Superman is, just trying to show basic human kindness, I would say that, that he got Superman, right? Because that's Superman's character.

And Superman is what's good about America. So how does Hollywood hate America that doesn't make any sense. Clay Travis, I'm not gonna go watch it seeing the quote. Okay. Dean Kain, he's a former Superman. Now Dean Kane is Maga and I never really considered him Superman anyway. I didn't even watch the show.

Y'all know I got Superman tattoo on my arm, right? It's big 'cause my arm is big, but I got Superman tattoo on my arm. I love Superman. Didn't even watch, uh, the Adventures of Lois and Clark. You know why? Because I didn't believe that he was Superman. He didn't feel like Superman to me, so I don't even put him in the, in the fraternity of [00:37:00] Superman.

But here's what he had to say. We know Superman is an immigrant. He's a freaking alien. We can't have everyone in the United States. Our society will fail. What?

What? Okay. Alright. So Mag is upset. Mind you, none of 'em have seen the movie. Not, a one has seen the movie. They're going on this quote, which just, Hey, Superman's in this world that's mirroring our world. And he's just like, I wanna do the right thing and help people. There's no hidden motive, kindness.

It's basically what he's saying and that he's creating a movie where somebody is just kind. 'cause he feels like people need to see that people need to be uplifted. Superman has always been about hope. It's what he is. And that didn't stop, uh, the White [00:38:00] House from posting a meme of taking Superman's face off and putting Trump's face on for the Superman poster and talking about truth justice in the American way.

Trump, Trump. You know, like, okay, all right. Maga the hypocrisy and everything that they say, the stupidity in everything that they say. I can call those people dumb. I know it's unkind. We're talking about Superman. I know it's unkind, but I'm gonna call those people dumb.

Superman Movie Review: The Good, The Bad & The AMAZING! ⭐️πŸŽ₯✨

Bruce Anthony: Alright, now for spoilers, for those people that don't want to hear about the movie, fast forward to about seven to 10 minutes.

I'm just gonna talk about the Superman movie. Okay. So what I will say about the Superman movie, it is very comic bookie. I enjoyed it. I found myself having a smile on my face at the end of the movie. It made me feel good. And James Gun took a interesting twist on the character. He changed a few things that was really interesting.[00:39:00]

The first thing that he changed, well, not the first thing that you changed, you don't find out this until the, middle of the second act, but when Clark Kent or Superman, kale was sent from, uh, Krypton to earth and this capsule's parents left a message. This is a routine thing, and all the stories of Superman, his parents left him a message, right?

Something happened and he only got half of the message. So the half of the message that he got was, Hey, we're sending you our only son from our doom planet to go to this planet. You'll be protected you'll have powers, this and that. Okay? He never got the second part of the message because it was destroyed in transmission somehow.

Well, Lex Luther breaks into the fortress of solitude and has one of his henchmen who has nanotechnology break into Superman's computer, and they get the second half of the message. And the second half of the message is [00:40:00] a, is the twist. So the twist was he was sent by Jarrell and lore his parents from Krypton, as Krypton is being destroyed to be earth's conqueror to, to, get women, to have many wives populate the, world, the earth, to subjugate people, to rule over them because he's better than them because he has powers and to create a new krypton.

Different twists. We've seen him before in certain iterations of Superman comics or TV shows or something, and I thought it was very, very interesting. And when he gets this second part of the message, he's devastated because he thought growing up all this time that his parents send him here, send him to Earth to be earth's protector.

So why is he earth protector? He's earth's protector because of Jonathan and Martha Kit. They found him. They raised [00:41:00] him. They gave him American values of basic human kindness. So it was not nature, it was nurture that turned him into Superman. That's the reason why James Gunn says it is an American story.

Yes, he's an immigrant, an alien that was adopted by Americans, old school Americans. It was just about basic human kindness. Treating people, right? Just treating people right and trying to do right by people because he was raised that way. That's how he became Superman. And when I say Superman is kind, he does not believe in taking any life.

He is fighting a dragon. I told you it was a comic book movie. He is fighting a dragon and a squirrel is about to be crushed, and he goes through heaven and hell to save a squirrel every life is important to him. As he's fighting the dragon, he's [00:42:00] trying to find a way to secure the dragon, to keep the dragon alive, to take it to another place where it can live happily and be on its own without destroying other people and other things.

Kindness. That's what Superman is. I look, should you take kids to see the movie? There's a couple of dark spots. In the movie that lets me know it's still an adult movie, but it is a very fun movie. It's a funny movie. I am going to see it again. I was nervous because I thought from the previews it was gonna be a lot and it wasn't.

It was two hours. It felt like a 90 minute movie. I felt like the movie should have been longer. but it was a thrill ride from the beginning. I highly recommend it. There was not a poor actor in the movie. There, there are some parts where [00:43:00] get a little wordy dialogue, get a little wordy.

Other than that, it was a great movie. Like I gave it an A minus. Won't give it an a plus 'cause there are some faults in the movie, but I give it an A, and this is what MAGA is getting upset about. The super kindness. I mean, he's literally fighting. Lex Luther, who is by far the most evil Lex Luther that there has ever been on any type of visual media that's ever been created.

He is the worst. You hate Lex Luther. He's not one of those cool bad guys. He's just a bad guy and, he is brilliant and smart and has a real devious plan. It's a really good movie. But James Gunn created a movie that's gonna put a smile on your face at the end of the movie. It's gonna be an involuntary smile.

You're just going to be smiling and, and I'm was [00:44:00] very critical while watching this movie, which means that the second and third and the fourth times that I watched this movie, as I let that. The critique of they need to get this Superman right is going away and I can just enjoy it. I'm gonna like it more and more and more and more and more because it's just an enjoyable movie.

It's a good movie, it's a heartfelt movie. It's what America should actually be. People showing basic human kindness.

Marriage & Money: Real Stories That Will Make You Think Twice πŸ’πŸ’°βš‘οΈ

Bruce Anthony: Typically I would reserve this for the membership. Because this is gonna be Bruce with the t you know, messy stories that I've heard, people that are around me and that, that I'm gonna share, obviously keeping people's names out of it. 'cause I've already been accused of people saying, Hey, that was my story that you told on the podcast.

I was like, yeah, but nobody knows [00:45:00] it's you because I didn't say your name. Sometimes I get permission, sometimes I do not. But you guys would never know who it is. but I have been getting some flack, so I'm gonna put that in memberships. But I am gonna tell these two stories because I think that they're interesting.

Now everybody knows if you're a fan of this show, that I was once married, since I said once married, that means I'm divorced. I've been divorced for, I don't know, 12, 13, 14 years. I don't even consider myself a divorcee anymore. It was so long ago. It's been longer. I've been not married after the marriage than I actually was with the person.

So complete total from beginning to date until the end of the divorce. Like it's been more time passed than, than completely with the person. I don't consider myself divorced anymore. I just consider myself unmarried currently. I never even [00:46:00] thought about getting a prenup in the beginning, and I had companies that I had started.

I trusted this person unequivocally, and even in a divorce as I had companies and a good job. There was never a fight financially. Our divorce was really simple. Well, simple financially simple, right? It was like, Hey, look. We're gonna leave what we came in with. Everything that we built together, we are just gonna split or give away or sell.

Okay. That wasn't a fight at all for either one of us. It was tough financially for both of us. But, we got through

Prenup Power Moves: Protect Your Bag Before You Say "I Do"! πŸ’πŸ›‘οΈπŸ’Έ

Bruce Anthony: it. If I were to get remarried again, and I'm not opposed to getting remarried, we gotta do a prenup. And most of the women that I date, I would say, well, you would need a prenup because you're coming in [00:47:00] with stuff just for yourself.

I would never come in and try to take what you have, what we build together. We gonna have to work that out. But I think it's safe to to do a prenup, to protect yourself. Especially at my big age right now, I'm 45. I'm not marrying somebody who's 25. Right? Like the lowest would be like 35, right? And they have things that they would be bringing into the marriage and they need to protect themselves financially.

Like I said, I don't have any ill intentions, but it just makes sense to protect yourself financially. Some people take real offense when you bring up prenups and marriages and it tends to be younger people because they don't understand that when you get to a certain age, you've built up equity or wealth or both.

And like if things don't work out, you kind of wanna [00:48:00] keep those things. You don't wanna give somebody half of something that they didn't have any part of half of something that we built together, of course, but half of something that they didn't have any part of. No, absolutely not.

Real-Life Relationship Drama: Wild Prenup Stories & Unfiltered Advice! πŸΏπŸ’”πŸ”₯

Bruce Anthony: I know of two separate people who are getting married and prenup was an issue for one, and prenup was not an issue for the other one.

I said that the one that the, people that were getting married where it was an issue, it shouldn't be. And the people that, that are getting married, that it wasn't an issue. It should be. I'll explain. So let's start with the people where it is an issue. Young woman, young man, early thirties, late twenties, early thirties, getting married.

Been together for years. Okay. Seven years. They're getting married. She brings up, Hey, what do you think about a prenup? He [00:49:00] says, jokingly, I'm not too worried about it. 'cause if some, if we get divorced, I'm just put everything in my mama's name. It's kind of hard to take what you don't own. She takes offense to it.

She takes offense to that joke. Like, what do you mean? Are you already planning to get divorced? Like, nah, it's just a joke. It's just a joke. A poor joke. Admittedly a very poor joke. Now they're having issues. And she was like, well, okay, well we should do a prenup. And he was like, well, what you mean?

Like why we need to do a prenup? Like we good the way things are. She's now, she's insisting on it and so much so that it's being accused. She is of being accused of already planning for a divorce in her mind. And that's not what a prenup is, right? I a prenup is a protection for in case ish happens.

Look, you don't go into a marriage thinking that you're gonna be divorced. You [00:50:00] don't, you go into a marriage thinking this gonna last for a while till death. Do your part. That's what you say in front of your friends and family. They sometimes they don't, a lot of times they don't. And it's okay to protect yourself financially.

So my advice to her was, look, you have assets. Before him. You need to protect yourself. If he is having an issue, that means that there's a lack of trust in the relationship

and also why does he have an issue? It's your stuff. He didn't have any claim to it. Why should he have any cling to it? You're not saying you want everything that he has before y'all together. You're not even saying you want everything that he gains while y'all are in the marriage. You're just saying, I just want my stuff that I came in with when [00:51:00] I leave.

This shouldn't be an issue. When I was a kid and I brought my toys over my friend's house, I'm leaving my friend's house with my toys unless he wants to borrow it and he can borrow it, but he gotta give it back. That's, I don't understand how that is complicated. The only time I leave stuff for people is when I bring stuff for people.

If I'm coming into the marriage and I'm saying, this is all ours, okay, then, but if I said, Hey, hold up this house that I bought before I met you, this condo, this townhouse, this car, this company that I started all of this before I met you, before we decide to say I do. That ain't ours. That's mine. I will share.

But if we decide that things aren't gonna work out, I'm leaving with it. As Denzel said, I'm [00:52:00] leaving with something and I'm leaving with what I came in with. So I told her, I don't think you wrong in this one. You need to stand 10 toes down. And it says something about your relationship, that there's a lack of trust, and maybe y'all should do counseling before you get married.

This shouldn't be a point of contention. Now the other situation where it's not a point of contention and I feel like it should be, gentleman, is getting married to a younger woman. Younger as in, he's in his early thirties, she's in her early twenties, okay. He's got bread, he's got property that he owns, 4 0 1 Ks, retirement cars, the whole nine.

She does not, she lived at home with her parents. She now lives with him. He likes that situation, which I feel was problematic in the first place. He likes this situation because he likes that she's dependent on him financially. 'cause he has a sense of control. [00:53:00] I told him that's very problematic, that you feel like you need to have control and be controlling over her.

That you want somebody beneath you. Those are issues that you need to talk to a therapist. No, I don't. Okay. Well, I'm telling you, as a grown man, that's an issue. He has decided he will not get a prenup. I said, I think that's a bad idea. He said, no, no, no, no. It's not a good, it's not a bad idea. You know, I trust her.

I was like, it's not about trust, it's about protection. You need to protect yourself. That's all I'm saying. She literally has nothing. You have everything. She's young. People change as they get older. Who's to say that she's gonna still want the current situation that she's in with you? What if she decides that she wants to have more independence, that she [00:54:00] wants to have money, that she doesn't wanna have to depend on you to ask for certain things and to get certain things?

How are you going to respond to that? What if. What I think you will have an issue with is her growing up and maturing and wanting her own things. You either deal with that or you decide to get a divorce. You don't have a prenup. Now she's entitled to half of everything, of not only what you came in with, what y'all built with, because you decided that you wanted to have somebody that you had control over financially.

I said, one, it's a stupid reason to get married to somebody. You get married because you love them, not because you can control them. That's first and foremost, and two, if you're so bullish about getting married in this particular situation, you should have a prenup because I guarantee you in about five to seven years, which is typically when marriages have [00:55:00] trouble anyway, there's gonna be an issue when the fact that she matures and she doesn't want to keep coming to you for money.

Whatcha you gonna put her on an allowance? She's gonna get to the point where she doesn't want to have an allowance. She's gonna want her own. Maybe she becomes ambitious. Life changes from 23 to 33. Life changes from 23 to 28 to 28 to 33. We changed. I'm a completely different person from what I was seven years ago.

Not a complete 180, but about a 35, 50 degree change. I'm different. You've, you, guys have seen me grow throughout the course of this show over the last two and a half years. People change. I said, get that prenup, man. I was like, first of all, get therapy. First of all, get some therapy. 'cause you got some issues.

The reason why you need to have control. If you need to have control, you're insecure. You need to find out why you're insecure. I know what it [00:56:00] is. I'm not gonna put his business out there, even though I didn't put his name out there. I know why he's insecure. It all stems from childhood trauma. But, he need to work that out.

Not listening to me, not paying attention to me, gonna go about doing what he's gonna do. And I know full well what's gonna happen. I know it. She will grow. She will mature. She will grow tired of the situation. She will go tired of the fact that she doesn't have control over her own life. She will confront you about it.

You like it in the current situation, being older at that point, ingrained in your position will fight. She will leave or she'll cheat, which will break your heart. Then you'll wanna leave because you don't have any more control than a person that's that in Insecure. Can't have a woman having an affair on them.

So you'll leave, you'll file for a divorce. Even though she had infidelity, you didn't have a [00:57:00] prenup. She gonna get that bread, bro. She going to get that bread. It's all because you are insecure. Look, marriage is complicated. Don't make it more complicated by not getting a prenup. If y'all are coming in both with nothing, you don't need a prenup.

But if one person is coming in with something, or both of y'all are coming in with something, do a prenup. It's the same contract that you're signing as that marriage license. It's a contract one saying that we're gonna be together forever. The other one is saying, just in the off chance that we're not together forever, we don't take the other one's stuff.

That's all it is. Those are my two messy stories. I don't, you know, I give people my best advice and people don't be listening to me. I be right all the time. People don't never [00:58:00] listen to me, and then they come back later and they say, Bruce, you was right. And I say, I know it. I know I don't speak on anything.

I don't know. I know how things are gonna work out. I'm gonna tell you exactly how it's gonna work out. It's gonna work out exactly the way I say, and you're gonna come back and tell me, Bruce, you was right. And I'm gonna say, yeah, I know. I'm not gonna be humble about it. I'm gonna let you know that I know.
